Have nothing to say to this ( you're outdoing yourself tonight Tony ), but thought it was worth highlighting for comical value at least whether it be now, or at sometime in the future.

And the irony of the word ' perspective ' in your thread heading is priceless given you seem to be totally lacking of it tonight.

We wouldn't have scored twice without Mullen's boot and a bit of luck. This was a really annoying year for me. We beat everyone in the top 4 yet couldn't put our sh*t together consistently. Having Karawana and Wes on the bench weakens the side I don't care about stats: you can see when they get subbed on that the defence becomes weaker. The runs aren't as strong and the tackles don't hurt as much. The backs I'm not too concerned about but it's the forwards and halves that need a boot.:x

I do wonder where it's all going. We've got some talent on the books - but so do the likes of Melbourne, the Dogs, and Brisbane - yet they manage to keep talented juniors, recruit big names, and have an all together talented side.

We seem to manage none of these consistently.

I think that unlike other teams, we pay overs for journeyman players.

Use Ciraldo as an example, he has given us zippo in 2 years, for mine, IF he is re-signed, its got to be less than he originally signed for. The article about his re-signing doesn't indicate this.

Ditto Marv, Tovo etc.

Then we've got big cap tied up in frauds or crocks such as Wicks, Wes, Little dog and Cross etc.

We need to be a lot more hard headed about our roster, something we've been incapable of for the last 9 yrs.

We need to do a Parramatta of 2004.

Clear the decks for some big signings.

We have a bit too much depth in areas we probably don't need it.

We have way to many outside backs, I'm happy to have a few quality ones go down and if they do throw in a young guy. I see that as win win.

Rogers would have played if he hadn't been suspended. Dureau got the gig for that reason only - and he showed tonight that he is not up to the job.

I don't think Rogers is either...we need someone outside of the club and we wont get past being a solid mid-table team until we do.

It's a shame that we have to lump Cross into that category. If he could just stay fit, he'd be one of the best front rowers in the competition.

Time to move on now. At least our younger player have now had a taste of Finals Footy and will be better for the experience. I have to say though the Medical staff need to be questioned though.

Overall I think we've built good foundations for the next few years.

Knights for 2010 have a good spine position 1,6,7,9 but their are too many fringe first graders in the rest of the positions...

Smith is a coup by us, Im sure he will bring the most out of Jason Ryles, Willie Mason, Braith Anasta and Todd Carney

For you guys you need Stone to mature abit for next year or else I dont see much improvement, him allowing De Gois and Zeb to play was amatuer decision making for a first grade coach

Definitely. That said, there's not many people in the NYC putting up their hands to come up and fill the void. Hilder did ok in hooker, but the fact is, DeGois is the only decent one we have - which is a worry.

Yeah well he's had a taste of it so he now knows what it takes.

As I keep saying we have to question the medical staff cuz they passed both De Gois and Zeb Taia to play.

I've come home at 3 in the morning from a night out and been able to tell that Tony has had a skinfull.

Good form.

I knew Scotty was in for a bad night when I saw him miss a tackle on - wait for it - ............................. the one and only, the great, Hasem El GoalKicker!!!!!!!!!!! Fair dinkum, if this bloke is able to run around or you or past you, you are clearly not up to NRL standard.

If you think we have a good number 7, then you are on your own. Lets do a trade - your 2010 halfback for ours :)

Don't be sorry Antonius - I've done it before, not so long ago after the Parramatta debacle. It just shows passion for the team.
.
But what i did was learn - and stay away from the bloody PC and League Unlimited when the Knights play poorly!!!!!!!!!!

Season ended pretty much how i expected it to all year. The Broncos showed last night that big name players win you big games. There is a reason Brian Smiths strategy of using a team of no name robots has never won him any premierships, its not bad luck its a bad strategy.

And whos idea was it to re-sign the entire squad without them ever proving that they were capable of anything more then finishing mid table? I guess 7th isn't so bad but after the last two seasons and all this "rebuilding" talk i expected more this year.

By the way we are not a young team, seriously compare our squads age to any other squad there is no difference. In fact next year with Simpson Cross and Tolar playing more games we would be one of the older teams going round.

And his attempted intercept 10 metres out on his own line when he should have put his body on the line to attempt to stop Hannant when he scored.

This was the soft option by a very very soft player.

You want perspective? I'll give you perspective :)

Let's face it, as much as we all wanted the Knights to win the comp this year (and pretty much every year for that matter ;-) ), we just don't have that gamebreaker that is going to win you big games. You look at all the other top eight sides - they've all got at least one player who strikes fear into you - sadly, we don't. But at the end of the day, the sun's going to come up tomorrow and it's on again next year :)
