And his attempted intercept 10 metres out on his own line when he should have put his body on the line to attempt to stop Hannant when he scored.

This was the soft option by a very very soft player.
He should never have been in a position where he was one on one with Hannant in the first place.

Also  @ everyone singling out certain players. We tried hard, were gallant, and were playing with 15 men. Simply, we weren't good enough as a team. Nothing to do with individuals ...

The fact is he took the soft option. This left the gaping hole for Hannant to run through. If he decided to have a dig and put his body on the line, he would have slowed Hannant down and there was enough distance for the defence to adjust.

Now Holdsworh is not the greatest player in the NRL but he showed last night how a half back should be putting their body on the line.

Dureau is a soft player, always has been and always will be and last night is just a continuation of his lack of mental toughness at the NRL level.

Didn't cost us the game though. We were gone by this stage.

Thats quite correct.

Just commenting on a period of play which happens every time he plays and unless it is fixed for next year, we can expect a similar position on the table.

All this Dureau bashing, I'd rather have Dureau there than Rogers.
I think the team should be based around Mullen and Dureau next season.
We also need to invest more money into the forward pack.

Looking forward to a bigger, tougher forward pack next season, and a better bench.

There is one individual that I have too blame and that's Stone. How he didn't hook Taia when he proved that he couldn't defend is amazing.

And when you consider none other than Cory Paterson would've been his replacement in the team in the first place, it's a difficult pill to swallow.

Not many teams would be able to ommit their best forward due to injury and replace him in the starting team with Cory Paterson.

Who knows what might have happened with a fit 17 players.

On Dureau - inconsistency should be the vice of a flashy player; the type of player that tries things, makes breaks, has a lot of variety and flair in their game and consequently doesn't always get it right. A bit like Mullen

Inconsistency should NEVER be the vice of a plodder like Scott who is really only there to do the little things smartly. Nobody even expects him to make a linebreak (EVER, literally). His only job is to put in a few decent kicks and earn some repeat sets now and then, control the game and try to get the best out of his more talented teammates.

He can't do it. He's not good enough. You know you're struggling when you're not as valuable as Jeff Robson.

It's such a shame because having a halfback that can execute basic skills on a regular basis like finding the in-goal area with grubber kicks would probably make all the difference between us being a premiership threat and not.

It's actually impressive how many tries the Knights score for a team that so rarely builds pressure by playing in the opposition half, controlling the ball, earning repeat sets through astute kicking etc. Despite continually lacking in these crucial elements of a game, we manage to make linebreaks and score points.

We'd be in trouble without Doogs though.

We were never going to do much good in the finals with our young and inexperienced side.
I'd have liked to have seen them finish top four, and i think we were good enough to do that - but next year we will be an outside chance at taking the title, and if the team is developed well by Stone, 2011 is a year we can take it out.
This year we were never a title chance.

Your probably right Roopy but does anyone else get pissed off at the constant rebuilding, building, developing WTF we always have to seem to put up with?

Then u see the Dogs from the spoon to a 1/4 chance of a premiership.

Its enough to make u scream!!!!!!

There are 16 sides, so we should on average get a title every 16 years, and since we have 2 in the last twelve years we are smashing the averages.

Whoever passed Isaac and Zeb fit should be sacked from the club. There is zero excuse for a f###up of that magnitude. Funny how the injuries they already were carrying were the ones that went during the game.

Joey and Bedsy have gone into big games in the past with as bad or worse injuries, and have sucked up the pain and won MOTM awards.
Joey booked himself out of hospital with a punctured lung to play the 97 grandfinal, and Bedsy played half a season with a broken bone in his foot.
Guys playing through injury, especially in big games, is not a new thing.

I dont know if we "let Ennis go" We had a decent hooker in front of him when he went looking elsewhere.

and he was a very incomplete player when he was here who wouldn't have reached his potential under Hagan.
As a 19 year old he scored a try a game in our PL side for a whole season, but the team finished close to the wooden spoon because they had a hooker who only gave hospital passes when it obvious he couldn't score himself.
Great individual skills, but terrible team player when he was at the Knights, and it took several years and a coach like Bennett to get the selfishness out of his game.

I though Ennis was a massive star for our PL sides when he plaed there....... Travelled all the way to Minto to see the boys play the Tigers when there were rumours that Hagan would rest Bedsy after Origin and leading into the finals.

The boy always had the talent.
