I seem to remember Greg Bird being told off by some Cops up there after an Origin match and it being headline news and people on here wanted his head.
JT actually goes further, spends the night in lockup, and "its a nothing story".

This place amazes me.

I believed the Bird incident was also a nothing story.

Anytime people get drunk and are mucking around and hurting or threatening no-one, then it's a nothing story.

As is the case with this and Bird's stories.

RUGBY league great Johnathan Thurston has been arrested for drunk and disorderly behaviour in Brisbane's CBD.

Police said he and two others including Nathan Daley and Willie Tonga were ``behaving in a disorderly manner'' in George Street outside the Treasury Casino about 4.15am.
Police spoke to the group and they laughed at the officers, before walking towards a taxi rank.
Thurston and Daley are then alleged to have wrestled each other on to the roadway, ending up on top of the taxi.
Police said the pair was then arrested ``for their own safety''.
``Both were grossly intoxicated,'' said an officer.
``Nobody minds people going out and having a good time, but when they're spoken to by police they really need to pull their heads in.''

He said once the men were arrested they started behaving.
They will be held at the Brisbane City Watchhouse until their blood alcohol reading falls below 0.05.
Both are expected to be charged with public nuisance.

Dude I agree, with you, even though I did quote one of your lines I was not referring to you. Sorry I didn't clarify it more.

Its a joke, I go out, get pi$$ed, get told off by a copper - nothing story.
XYZ RL player goes out, gets pi$$ed, gets told off by copper - front page news, wake up the queen!

Tall poppy syndrome in this society is outrageous

Sounds like Queensland Police wankery once again.

So Thurston was wrestling with his mate? What a menace to society...

I'd be getting sloshed too if I had the season the cowboys had. A nothing story but will be hyped up as 'another league atrocity' by some.

It's a nothing story but the cops did nothing wrong. They spoke to them, the boys were very drunk, carrying on, the cops have a duty of care. If they had let them go on and one had been hit by a car, then the cops would have been in the wrong.

If anyone has done something wrong it's the casino, where's the responsible service of alcohol. Funny the media never highlights that bit.

I must admit though, while ever Thurston is skipper, the Cowboys will never be successful. You need someone with credo leading your club and he aint got it.

Bird claimed he was arrested as a "joke" and that he did nothing, in another long line of childish lies.

Yeah, I'd give it to Scott or Bowen.

Thurston unofficially runs that club though so I doubt it'll happen.

Yeah that's right Canard.

We all know that he stole the bottles from behind the bar and then took them off the premises. And then he tackled the night manager.

Hang on .... sorry .... that was some other blokes.

Narrrhhh that was right, the CCTV just showed Birdy standing outside on the street when the Police got him for, what was it, refusing to leave the premises or something like that.

Yes, Birdy lied about the Police dropping the charges. Thinkcanard and canoath about it.

Cheers
