How is this a nothing story or tall poppy syndrome?

The guy was blind after 4am on a weekday, got asked to leave at the casino and then got thrown in the slammer for the night. On top of that he was supposed to be recovering from an injury.

Blaming it on the casino is ridiculous. Where's JT's responsibility in not continuing to buy drinks when he's already hammered?

Like blaming drug dealers when a drug addict overdoses.

It's your personal responsibility to not get in that state.

You Brisbane Donkeys supporters would have to be the most hypocritical of all supporters that have ever followed a league team.

You adopt the big hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil when it comes to the Donkeys, a-la Lockyer not being pissed and tackling the night manager, well he didn't do it, its not like him,....... then the CCTV footage comes out .... then it might not even be him in the films a bit blury . .... then it's all good clean fun, the boys being boys .... blah blah blah.

JT was out on the piss with his mates, letting down his hair, so what.

And a donkeys, there are a few of them in here, coming out and calling for his head.

You blokes should be the last to throw stones at the glass houses.

Have a good look in your own backyard.

You know what, I hope that the boys kicked a goal or two on their night out. Good luck to them.

The only thing that they should of been aware of is that there is a well publicised blitz going on north of the Tweed for bad public behaviour. I'd say the boys are a few of the hundreds and hundreds that have already been picked up in the last couple of weeks.

How dare they.!!!!!!

I fully expect to hear whenever the Broncos do anything wrong in town.

If they haven't done anything seriously illegal I don't expect them to go to jail (Hunt, Boyd, Thaiday, Lockyer), but I know as sure as hell that we'll all hear about it anyway.

I'd rather it was kept quiet and the club and the NRL's image wasn't tarnished every time it happens, but this won't happen, and the players know it.

If the players take responsibility for their actions, then there is no news.

I'm not calling for JT's head at all, nor anyone else's, just wish they'd wake up to themselves.

I must admit though, while ever Thurston is skipper, the Cowboys will never be successful. You need someone with credo leading your club and he aint got it.

You mean credo like the current Brisbane, Queensland, and Australian captain?

I think you guys are missing the point...he is setting a bad example to all those kids coming out of the casino at 4:15am in the morning.

Humans do not go out and have a good time and occassionaly get into a little trouble.

What sort of role model is he!!

:D

Wait...so they were arrested "for their own safety" and started behaving once arrested...but will be charged with public nuisance? Who exactly were they a nuisance to? each other?

Think you'll find that if you end up in the tank, a charge happens automatically. At least in Victoria that's the case, be suprised if QLD was much different.

In Victoria, you don't have to attend and never hear about it again.

he gets on the front page in Victoriania http://www.heraldsun.com.au/

and they have nfi who he is

Pretty poor, though doubt it will make any significant place in tomorrow's print edition.

Inglis isn't a Queenslander.

Oh I dunno, after efforts like yesterday, I think we can let them continue the delusion that he is ;-)

 wowser. As a uni student who has about as much useful to do as JT does during the finals, I can safely say that 4am on a weekday is a perfectly reasonable time to be blind drunk.

I'm still not sure what he was thrown in jail for. Sounds like a cop on a power trip.

I hardly think going out with your mates and apparently getting blind drunk ( though he was released a few hrs later which makes you question just how drunk he was) can warrant someone losing their credibility . I think Thurstons a great leader for the Cowboys and you can tell by the way he is both on and off the field . I don't think he's given enough credit for his leadership and i know that I'd want someone with as much passion as Thurston leading my team .

so how did be come heavily intoxicated in 35 mins?

http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/rug...e-20100916-15cxx.html?from=age_ft&autostart=1

Thurston and two other men had been at the casino for about an hour when they were advised to leave about 3.40am.

''He consented to all requests and was polite to security guards," a statement from the casino said.

''His actions at the time provided no indication he was intoxicated.''

http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/...d-outside-casino/story-e6freoof-1225924597365

The officer told the newspaper both men were "grossly intoxicated" but police would not confirm this.

 Yes, lets blame the cops. JT can go and do what he wants, but don't arrest him because if you do it is a power trip.

he will probably lose the captaincy of the Cowbs over this, but could be a blessing in disguise tbh, I think he needs to just concentrate playing and leave the 'liasing' with the refs to someone else (Matt Scott?????) i think of late his relationship with the refs and as a leader on the field haven't helped the teams cause.............
