Tigers at kogarah

Take a long hard look at yourself.
Replied once, will do it again.
Not to wish Nene any ill will, but the only way we are ever going to get any desperately needed changes to this team from the muppet running it into the ground is through injury.

Mary will never drop anyone through poor form, he's proven that over the last 4 years, an injury forces him to look outside the little box he lives in.

That and we just got beaten by the effing Tigers and dropped to third when we should have won by 50 and retaken top spot.
So forgive my recalcitrant attitude.

I'd take 3rd after SOO and there were some very tired legs out there.

In the first 20 minutes there was 2 dropped balls and a "Hail Mary" from Widdop which could have gone anywhere however, looked a bit desperate.

Hunt, Luc, Vaughan and McInnes can stand tall and Graham did what Grahams does however, Aitken, Mann and Leeson had games to forget.

The team created chances to win the game but the Tigers defence was to good. Hope they get a good rest and a top 4 finish should be on the cards.

Most pundits expected a slump during the Origin period. Well it’s happening now so not really a surprise. A 3-2 record isn’t too bad considering.

We need to regroup and make our run in the next 7 weeks. We are 3rd now so we’re in a good position to do it, and start to peak again for the finals.

Mary hasn’t faced a scenario where he’s had multiple rep players so it’s a big test for him.

These next 7 weeks will tell us a lot about his credentials.

If you're referring to Leilua then I must disagree. In fact, one of the few positives taken from yesterday was the fact that the coach finally figured out his best use - coming on late in the half to provide some big runs, ballskills and impact.

He may have had value a few minutes earlier OR at the back end of the first half instead, but playing him against tiring opposition is the only way to avoid his own fatigue and possible laziness factoring against us.
Should have definitely been on the paddock with 10 to go in the 1st half.
Mc Fookknuckle insists on replacing tired forwards with plodders instead of changing us from a tackling team to an attacking team.
If you have a close look at the game Nightingale took it upon himself (or maybe under instruction) to get into the middle and take the ball up in the ruck which is just a continuation of bullocking work which is the team's / coaches mindset.
Leilua definitely offered plenty when he got on, but it was all too late as usual.
10 before half time, 5 or 10 after half time and then a rest and 10 at the end.

We've been saying this for 4 weeks now.
What we got was just beating a rabble of a dogs team.
Almost losing to the equally woeful Eels.
Getting flogged by a depleted Storm, proving our ISP players are underprepared for first grade.
And a shocking performance against a Tigers side on a 2-8 run.

I'm afraid the next 7 weeks may just confirm what we have already seen in the previous 4

That would be 3 interchanges all revolving around Lucky. One usually uses at least 4 interchanges for the prop rotation. That would only leave one interchange and DeBelin wouldn't have had a rest yet, unless you interchanged Lucky with Debelin before halftime and then brought DeBelin back on for him in the second half.

I would be thinking use 6 interchanges for the middle forward rotation. Bring Lucky on with about 25-20 minutes to and that would only leave one more interchange up our sleeve for the rest of the game.

I will say that I was impressed with Lucky when he came on yesterday. He looks to be growing in confidence. He may still be a very good young prospect. The question is what position does his future at the club lie. I think he has the build more suited to prop or even lock. As I have said numerous times, I would like us to try and develop him as a prop. Right now I would like us to see if he can replace AhMau next year.

The issue is why bring him on only when we have to to try and come from behind late in the game?
Why the f**k don't we use him to get in front or increase our lead before half time?
If he works out before half time then you can be more judicious in rotations in the 2nd half, however if we only bring him on late in the game to try and create a win and we lose, then that will do SFA for his confidence,

Correct.

It’s a period where multiple players have been pre occupied elsewhere. Panthers have had some ordinary performances recently, as have the Warriors and Broncos. Souths and probably Melbourne are the only teams playing well.

Was well documented we would struggle through this period and it’s happened.

Being 3rd and 2 points off first now we’ve gotten past the rep period isn’t too bad is it not?

If we lose against the Cows next week, then it’s time to panic.

I should have prefaced that by saying I do not wish Nene any sort of long term injury or harm.
However I would like to see some changes to our misfiring backline and some added youth and vigour and given Mary's penchant for "pick and stick" through thick and thin the only way for this to happen is through an injury.
Fair enough, but he’s a much bigger loss than Nighty it Mann would be.

The Dragons were flat yesterday and have been for sometime. Yesterday would've been a good opportunity to rest some players.

The tigers line speed was really quick and being at the game it seemed that the refs let a lot go... Credit to the tigers though, they were deserved winners.

Loosing Nene early in the second half hurt our ability to get out of our own end. Vaughn, McInnes played well and Nighty put on a couple of hits. I don't understand why McGregor puts Vaughn on with 5 mins left of the first half. As someone mentioned earlier, Luc should've been put on alot earlier in the game.

The positives to take away were despite being behind and playing ordinary, they had their chances to snatch the win, just let down by execution. In the last 10 minutes, if someone took control instead of playing hot potato, we may have got the win....but you live and you learn...

Dragons need to stop giving the opposition so much time and room.
The defense stops and waits to see where the runners will decide to go.
The Wests playmakers had so much time to choose a runner or to step etc.
This also means that the defence is flat footed and falls backwards giving the ball carrier a quick playtheball before our defensive line is set.

We will never be a serious threat until we defend aggressively and limit the time and space of the opposition.

Also, if the refs are allowing teams to rush up early, the Dragons should do it too. Get the message out there!

If we had of jagged a win in final 10 mins it would have hidden the truth.
We suck.
At least now we realise this.

Exactly
He is averaging 125 meters per game.
Not to mention his try scoring ability.
If he is out long or even short term we will miss him.
Expecially returning the ball back.
Who's going to do the hard yard dufty.
He not built for it.
Nighty will try hard but we all know what you get.
Some people on here how just bag player without any reason.
Just shows how little they know about football.
End of rant.
Exactly who gets bagged for no reason?
Nighty. Fair criticism.
Lafai. Fair criticism
Nene. People here say he runs back the ball with not enough vigour. That is correct.
Aitken. At times poor defence.
Fair criticism.

I say the opposite is true.
Some on here defend poor performance and scream out unfair criticism.

Like Mary, drop no one.

Accept mediocrity.

If Papili can be dropped by Ricky, any of our players should face the music for shit performances as well.

Nene may be missed because we think we have no one else, but he is a soft runner.

Stats such as mts ran and line breaks cannot hide what we see with our own eyes.

You have every right to criticise poor performers, don't be bullied into not saying what you see and what you think.

Stand up and be counted.

You are a dick
Wake up.
No it is not good Nene is hurt.
But yes... it is good to see what someone else can do.
Nene is cruising, bludging.
Don't expect you to agree.
Like Mary, you think every player is just sweet and dandy.
Who is the real d##k!?
