The way I saw it, our SOO players played their hearts out but were clearly fatigued.

Nightingale and Aitken should not be on our right edge but instead Nightingale should retire and Aitken be on the bench. Yes it's time to bring Lomax and Herbert into the side at least both of these players can pass the ball, have speed and can take a high ball.

In our forwards, Frizell needs to move to prop and Leilua to fill his place. It's time for Leilua to step up and do his stuff as he looks to really hve the talent and size we need on the right edge. Next off season it should be defence, defence and defence for Leilua. Mann really had a bad game today and Dufty although scoring a try, just was not busy enough and was caught out in defence a number of times.

Is this confirmation of our feared slide? I hope not. I really hope not.
Possum agree with most of this, I think they just have to find the right way to slot Leilua in somehow to add a different dimension to the attack whilst copping his possible weakness in defence. The other clear thing the team lacks is speed, I have been a Nighty die hard until now, today we needed spark and speed from the wings and came up with little. While we were winning I could argue (proven to be incorrectly) that Nightingale had a role but others were arguing we needed a change and they were right. Dufty is the proof of how much we need more speed, he uses his to score a lot of tries, imagine if our wingers were as quick and skillfull, more tries. Aitken seems to have learned zip with his defence, a try is on whenever the ball is passed out to his side. None of this will happen, McGregor is likely to stay the course and go down again in a heap just like last year....very down about today :(

When you're among the highest paid and play a key playmaking position then criticism comes with it. He's been going down hill and looking more like the Widdop we've been used to.

Why not criticise his hair colour (9r haircut) then?

The WHOLE side has been on the slide for a while, if you haven’t noticed.

Really, these attacks on individuals (e.g. Widdop or Nightingale) are quite pathetic.

The teams he has had the previous have not been up to standard, that was clear to see. This year before the season he came out and said he finally has the team he wants..big call. We lead 1st for more than half the season. Perfect example.

Yes, it IS a perfect example.

As with last year, the NRL is akin to a marathon. Many people mocked me when I cautioned against Saints’ good early season form.

Sadly, it’s one of the few instances where I am right.

The story was the half time break, Tigers players listening on to every word Cleary was saying right up until they had to return to the field, Dragon players were scattered around shed after McGregor had finished his talk in a couple of minutes, obviously had no plan B

Not pathetic at all. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. My opinion is that Nightingale is done and would be flat out getting a start in any other sides first choice 13. He certainly wouldn't make the 13 for any other side in the top 10.

Watching how Souths and Warriors played compared to how we played just shows how bad we were.
I thought that Tyson and Vaughan were our best on field. Aitken is one of my favourite players but he looked useless today, as did Nightingale.
I don’t think we have a coach that can make changes to improve us. We should finish fourth or fifth and the Coach needs to rest JDB, Tyson and Sims and perhaps Vaughan to get them ready for finals.
It’s time players like Lomax, Herbert and Jordan P were given time in first grade to see if they are ready.

You said it...opinion only.

Subjectivity at its best.

I just wince at the thought of what a half decent team would do to us right now. Tigers were pretty tame but had the game wrapped up with 15 to go. I hope this is the wake up call for the players but - and I hate to say it - I think it is just a sign of more things to come.

I love origin but I hate origin.

While I am at it, I am feeling a little disappointed in Mann. He really hasn't made the most of the opportunity extended to him and he has handed over some valuable ball at vital times in the last few games. I was really excited at the prospect of him making a name for himself. Lafai and Aitken have been putting in their usual 'meh' type performances, Nightingale has got a reprieve and is his busy self without worrying the opposition, Nene injured now...it's a real ordinary backline 1-5. Flashes of brilliance from Dufty will be good for the highlights reel but not going to save our team if the others don't step up.

Very disappointing game.
Too many errors in the crucial moments. Tigers were nothing special but didn't need to be against a team that completed at 60 odd percent.
They need to start completing sets and getting better field position before anything else.
Let's hope they come with a more professional attitude next week and do the basics right. Dropping the ball constantly is something that you expect in the first month of footy not round 18.

Go and have your stinky bog somewhere else - we know how to do our own thank you.
Had a quick read of this thread during the week . . . . with the exception of just a few that recognise any game can be won or lost . . . the arrogance of the vast majority of you has deserved it's karmic reward.
What a great game. Who's fault is it ? the ref ?, Mary ? Nighty ?, Kurt ?.
Your crowd at the "fortress" actually boo more than they cheer. Well they did today at least.
Sleep well tonight and have a great week, and maybe go easy on the early crow next round.

Many people harp on about Mary not having a plan B. Our forwards are our strength. Therefore the power game should be our plan A, but our outside backs lack strike power. That is our problem and leaves us with no plan B. We need wingers and centres who can score from more than 20m out. I am struggling to recall any of our wingers or centres scoring a try from more than 20m out this year and even in earlier years.

I would be happy for us to sign B Morris for one wing spot next year. Then I would like us to sign Rapana the next year as he is off contract at the end of 2019. Dylan Walker is also off contract at the end of 2019, he would be a decent center signing.

"Let's hope"
I've been hoping for five years they will get better against crap opposition in crucial games.
But they don't do they?

Once again they were rubbish against a side they should have put 50 on.

Didn't turn up, never do.

The moment in the first half when we put up a kick, which the Tigers touched to give us six again, and Blondy threw a ridicolous pass out behind him to lose the ball and 20 metres summed it up for me.
They expected to win and got belted.
As usual.

They only started playing with ten to go.

Mary is totally, fatally, unable to get his team prepared to play against opponents they are expected to beat.
While he is there we expect and get mediocrity.

Said it from Day 1.

We have the ingredients to be a premiership force, great halves and great forwards obviously.

But our 1-5 is not premiership caliber.

The rep season has dimished our forward dominance but we lack strike out wide to compensate. Just too slow and pedestrian out there.

Sorry but we are unfortunately used them playing this way from round 18 onwards
