MCK is primarily a back-rower who is spending more time in centres @ WT.Theres no doubt he has the ability to effectively cover a no. of positions. He should be ahead of Siro Lovett & Halatau in the pecking order.

Tony Williams dropped by Canterbury Bulldogs before Wests Tigers clash

Tony Williams may have played his last NRL game after he was dropped from the Canterbury side to take on Wests Tigers on Sunday.
Williams was named on an extended six-man bench but Fairfax Media can reveal he will be one of the two players to make way. There has been ongoing speculation about the future of the man dubbed 'T-Rex' for some time due to his inability to consistently reproduce the form that earned him NSW and Australian honours. However, the backrower has shown only glimpses of his best form since shifting from Brookvale to Belmore and coach Des Hasler has finally lost patience.
Williams was demoted to the interchange in Canterbury's last game, a loss to Parramatta, in which he played for 33 minutes, made 11 tackles, one error and 42 metres from six runs. However, he has now been axed altogether and is likely to run out for the Bulldogs' Intrust Super Premiership clash against Wentworthville at Belmore Oval on Saturday.
Williams is in the final year of a lucrative contract but will need a huge turnaround in form, and a significant pay cut, to continue his NRL career. Hasler is hoping Williams will bounce back in first grade when several stars - including Josh Jackson and David Klemmer - are unavailable during the State of Origin period.

A shame. I was hoping he'd play. when you consider price they are paid, Williams is a massive dud and makes Sironen look like the best budget back rower in the comp.

Geez I hope that's true coz it would restore a little faith in selection policy @ WT as sironen is useless.

From NRL.com

After being named as 18th man on Tuesday, expect recruit Elijah Taylor to force his way into the final 17. There is some chance Taylor might start at lock, with Sauaso Sue dropping back to the bench to join the front-row rotation and Josh Aloiai out of the side.

Happy with that, would probably have siro on the bench but it might be the kick in the arse he needs

Eh wrong guy to drop imo, he's a big body and a solid worker..we're gonna need all the size we have against the Dogs

I'm really happy Sue is moving back to bench prop for impact. Would prefer Aloai and Halutau on the bench with either Siro or Lovett omitted from the squad as we will need size for this match

Wrong bloke to drop.Josh has size & consistently has a dig.Sironen based on his consistently poor output should've been dropped for Elijah.

Are Brooks and or Moses OK? Asking because Drinkwater was a withdrawal from the NSW Cup game yesterday but that mayt have been to being hurt in the game last week v QLD.

Wests Tigers Intrust Super Premiership side have made it three wins in a row with a strong 24-22 win over the Wyong Roos in their Round 10 clash this afternoon.

Welcoming back Matt Ballin for his first game since suffering an ACL injury last year, Wests Tigers got off to the perfect start when Jack Littlejohn found Rod Griffin on the inside 30m from the Roos line. Griffin showed good agility and awareness to round Omar Slaimankhel at the back, before using his strength to crash over close to the posts.

Tyler Cassel converted to give Wests Tigers a 6-0 lead after just eight minutes.

Wyong threatened to level the match when Paki Afu found space through the middle of the field, before a brilliant tackle from fullback Watson Heleta stopped the prop forward.

The Roos would eventually hit back following a clever kick from Tyler

Cornish close to the line, which found space in behind the markers for Slaimankhel to touch down.

Cornish’s simple conversion leveled the score at 6-6 after 23 minutes.

After several repeat sets on the visitors’ line, Wests Tigers would eventually pull back in front in the shadows of half-time, with a good run and offload from Michael Chee Kam allowing Littlejohn to sprint away to the line. Cassel was unable to convert from out wide, giving the home side a 10-6 lead at the break at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.

The home side would begin the second half in ideal fashion, with a superb run from Josh Addo-Carr breaking open the Roos’ defence and allowing the winger to cross out wide.

Cassel — filling in at goal-kicking following Josh Drinkwater’s late withdrawal — showed great skill to add the extras from the sideline to extend Wests Tigers’ lead to 10.

Wyong wouldn’t go away, however, and quickly hit back with a try to Mitch Frei after 46 minutes to cut the margin to six points again. However, following some gutsy goal-line defence, Stringer’s side would preserve their lead and work the ball down field to try and extend their lead once again — which they would do through the returning Ballin.

Playing at lock with Manaia Cherrington out there, Ballin found some space wide on the left and proved too strong — crashing over for a much-celebrated four-pointer.

Cassel was unable to add the extras, however, leaving the score at 20-10.

Both teams would continue to trade tries as the second half wore on, with Dominic Reardon crossing for Wyong after 67 minutes before captain Asipeli Fine found space back against the grain to cross and take the score to 24-16 with 10 minutes to play.

The match was set for a grandstand finish when Afu crossed with just five minutes to play — cutting the lead to 24-22 — but some gutsy defence from Stringer’s men saw them hold firm and emerge with a two-point victory from a thrilling Round 10 clash.

I was thinking that maybe Drinkwater is coming into first grade. It'd be interesting.

I'd like to see the guys performing in the lower grades get a chance especially when the guys in the top grade aren't performing.

Sirro into the starting team, with Aloiai to the bench and Sue drops out all together. f**k me , I've had a gut-full of Taylor and his stupid last minute changes, especially when we drop big blokes like Sue who try for powder puffs , lazy, heartless merkins like Sirro. Someone needs to belt the tripe out of Taylor with an iron bar
