Timana Tahu accused of racially abusing youth

He will handle it exactly the same way as he did with Johns, I would imagine.
Do nothing for weeks while it builds to a crescendo in the press, and then be forced into action by "popular opinion"...? ;-)

I supported (and still do support) Tahu's stand against Johns - which were not just "allegations". But in the months since then he has proved he can be a whiny bitch princess with his statements in the press about DA and playing not fully fit (put in his place by Hindy).

Like most footy players, I'd say Tahu isn't the brightest spark - didn't get the chances as a kid etc. If this is true, it'd be pretty dumb of him to use the same descriptive word he himself had recently objected to.

Well what a bunch of hypocrites some of you lot are (Timana included)
Some of the same people who are supporting Tahu now by saying the story must not be true were quick to judge and convict Andrew Johns with no more evidence.

I would love nothing more than a fit and willing Tahu in the centres for the Eels. But I think I'm starting to think this brain dead drama queen is no longer worth the hassle. Hope Kearney can do something to reighn this bloke in and get him concentrating on playing bloody footy!!

So many people quick to Judge and seem to know who's guilty and who's not.
How the hell do you know if it was said or not? Could be true could be false.

So many righteous people on here who if their personal lives were exposed I wonder if they would still be making any comments at all.

Mr Binge, Northern United sponsor John Bryce, captain Willie Hammond and vice-captain Alwyn Roberts have all gone on the record to state that Tahu made the remark.

The only way it can be proved is if a) Tahu admits it b) there is video/sound recording evidence or c) there are witnesses and it appears there are witnesses.

It is not just tahu's word against some 16 year old kids. There are 4 other adults who have gone on RECORD stating it happened. The fact that he was involved in a scuffle, got sin binned and appeared to have been on the angry pills all tournament isn't goin to help his cause

Tahu is in serious trouble over this and if he did it he owes an apology to the kid, every indigineous Australian, andrew johns, parramatta, nsw and his own kids (as that is why he made his original stand).

I thought I heard this morning that it was reported the father never actually heard the remake directly and was just saying his son said it happened and he was going by that.

Tahu was one of my favourites...now i can't wait for him to leave.
He's a grub on the field and not much better off it.

That is correct but the captain and vice captain who were playing have also gone on record saying it occurred

Whether he said it or not, the Parramatta Club has a decision to make.
Its obvious that Tahu's thinking is not where it should be. He is payed to perform in the NRL and I assume paid quite well. Simply put, he did not do that last year and all indications are that his emotions will get in the way of him once again achieving his true worth.
Ever since he made that "home movie" after the Origin fiasco it was abundantly clear that this guy has issues that are best resolved away from football.
Getting sin bined and showing agro at a "backyard" footy carnival shows evidence of deep concerns.
Sign him for the minimum and pay performance payments otherwise see ya later Timana.

If found guilty it would be hypocritical of parra to keep him on the books. He should be sacked the same way Johns was.

Why does the club have a decision to make?? How do you know what transpired at the carnival.

Getting sin binned?? Are you serious, everyone gets sin binned. Agro? Are you serious?? It's a freakn contact sport mate it's not for softies.

We have so many panic merchants as supporters. I call them media sponges. That's because what ever the mdeia reports must be true in their minds.

Open your minds people, just because it's in the paper doesn't mean it's true.

If true then yeah you can have your panic attacks but until then settle down. It's freakn embarrassing how some people react.

I've been away and have not read the entire thread, but this does not seem right.

Black people call each other n*ggers all the time as do new Australians call each other w*gs.

What a f**king world we live in. <shakes head>

a player who has come out saying an injury hampered his performance and playing in a "backyard" footy carnival is a deep concern. Did he get a clearance from the club or had his contract officially finished at the end of the season?

I wonder who was running the carnival where it is OK for spectators and official to run on the field to complain during the match and no action taken.

Put the fool on the wing next season and if he complains or spits his dummy then cut him loose. He has had his foot in his mouth before returning to league and nothing has changed since he returned - including his horrible form. Osbourne must tell him to keep his mouth shut. Maybe Johns could now help Timana out of his alleged predicament.

A person who has claimed they were racially abused is never going to admit they racially abused someone else, otherwise he will be the laughing stock of the NRL. Just like the Indian cricket team thay like playing the race card, but in reality are as big a racists as anyone playing cricket, see the Andrew Symonds incident. as a case in point.

I agree , what a precious world we live in , full of PC , all races playing the race card when it suits , all gays playing the homophobia card when in suits, allegations , litigations , unfounded accusations. The only ones who benefit from all of this are the lawyers and the media!

I'm an ABC , and I can tell you it was part of growing up to call our chinese mates " silly chink ' etc . It's when people outside of the genre call you the derogatory terms and with malice , that I take offence.

Tahu does seem to have issues , but PLEASE , this smacks of an upstart
16 year old trying to make a name for himself against a star , and when it doesn't come off , plays the vilification card.

I hope nothing comes of this and Tahu can get back to his former glory.
