There was a really bad influence which sucked Tim Smith into its sickening void. Yes, Timmy was at fault, it was his choice BUTTTT Brian Smith would have gotten rid of this void (negative influence) but alas DF became the obstacle.

Then sleepy head Hagen came along who really was in la la land and could not see reality and so innocent gullible naive Tim Smith fell and fell and fell. Remember, Jack Gibson took Peter Sterling under his wings and just look how much PS blossomed in a true sincere loving environment. DA & PO are now bringing the best out of each other and this will rub off on to the whole club and district. TS, if he puts the hard work in to strengthen his body, will blossom into a world class 7 or 6.

Jason Taylor knew about this negative void (he felt it) but could do nothing because of the circumstances, particularly not having the power to execute. If Jason Taylor stayed on for 2007 the Eels would have not only been in the GF but more than likely have won it. It was DA (his EGO) who stuffed up what could have been for 2007.

Now with PO and DA on board, TS will be provided with the nurturing environment to unfold his huge array of talent. Let me tell you, we have all seen nothing yet with TS. It's now up to TS if he is to come on board and fulfill his vision at the Eels.

And yes, there is a world class forward looking at the EELS right now and if he comes on board PO & DA will bring the best out of him.

And yes, there is another world class player looking at joining the Eels as well. But will it be 2011 or 2010. Its up to PO and this player agreeing to drop his asking price. My bet, he will drop his price because he deperately wants a premiership or two or three or four before he retires and he knows something big is growing out Parra way. Will he follow his heart??? Only time will tell or should I say, PO does not stop wooing him over.

Booooooo Casper:lol:

Sorry to be a prude but I guess you meant this DA to actually be a DF.

Cheers.

Good post by the way. :thumb

Hypocracy?

Its very much agreed that the club should not pay for potential ie, a Toyota Cup Star but its ok to pay for a "previously" troubled individual who we assume a different culture will correct.
Im all for giving someone a second chance and possibly a third or fourth or maybe a fifth but will this culture change teach T Smith to:
1. Take on the line
2.

Oops see above:

2. Tackle effectively
3. Not go missing when the game is on the line.

Fingers crossed I say but hey....... lets take that chance.

Tim Smith eh...? My high hopes for next season on the back of our signings might take a dip if that was to be our next signing. Tim Smith is not the messiah.

I think I know what/who is meant by the negaitive void that Tim Smith fell into... but I'm still not convinced he'd be a first choice halfback over Keating, Robson, or whoever else is coming up through the ranks. Offer him 55K and have him play at Wenty and take his chance if someone gets injured.

Timmy has the same super-fast Wally Lewis like vision over a football field while in the heat of battle. He just was toooo lazy about strengthening his body to fulfill his potential in a brutal gladiator sport and too naive to see the terrible negative influence alcohol had over him as well as the negative influence that came from being amongst a few peacocks who did not have Tim's best interests to heart, even though they witnessed (many times) the terrible downhill slide Tim would go on when a few drinks passed his lips.

Brian Smith & JT would have stopped ALL this from worsening and it would have meant a few well known players leaving the club or at best changing their ways real quick if they wanted to stay on. But then JT was ignored and sleepy "nice guy" Hagan came along without the balls and tacit skills of JG to apply a remedy real quick.

PO and DA will never allow this kind of rubbish from ever creeping in again while they are on watch.

I don't know much about Paul Osbourne but from what I am reading and hearing, he seems like the type of person who would want to help someone like Tim Smith. A God fearing man that he is, you'd think he'd rather help Timmy become a better person and footballer than to let him slip away altogether. In saying that, there are alot of footballers in the same category that need help, just lucky Timmy was an Eel.
