How do you explan him as our halfback taking us to the finals every season, and him not being the half back we miss out. We had the likes on hayne, inu and hindmarsh to and still mamanged to miss the finals.

Im not saying he can do it all on his own, put good players around him and he fires. You got tim smith with the options of hayne, inu, mateo, grothe, hindmarsh. With his talent and the finishing ability of these guys. He is what we need.

Hey Stagger...... Please tell DA & PO to study the info behind Aspartame here: http://nospam06.com.au/node/95 because it has a lot to do with Tim Smith's Bi-Polar problems and while at it check out MSG as well: http://nospam06.com.au/node/97

And before I forget please spread the news about this........
Journalist Files Charges against WHO and UN for Bioterrorism and Intent to Commit Mass Murder - Case About Swine Flu: http://nospam06.com.au/node/6671

There is so much more I can share with everyone but one step at a time for now ... slowly slowly wakey wakey

Tim Smith had a great rookie year, but then fell away after that, for whatever reason. Even in 2007, he did not have a great year. Ill argue that finch and hanye had alot more to do with us making the prelim then smith
Look back at 2005, he did lead the try assists category, but isolate them and tell me how many were from kicks? Id say prob 70% or more and ill tell you now that you cannot forge a career from that. 2 examples:
The roosters last year forged into the top 4 based on tries from kicks, but fell away the last few weeks of the season and have gone backwards last year.
Israel Folau burst onto the scene mostly because of his leaps, but this year already he has been so much less effective, because teams have worked him out and are now running blockers in front of him.

basically a good halfback these days needs more then a good short kicking game to be successful - they need to run the ball...look at the last 3 premiership teams - orford, cronk, brisbane in 2006 im not sure but they had lockyer. We bring tim smith back and he might find some form like in 2005, but he aint going to find this electric speed!!

I was super super impressed with what keating showed this year, he looked dead set electric everytime he touched the ball and always looked dangerous. similarly, ive been very encouraged my mortimer so far. my only concern there is that they are both quite small and will both become targets in defence. other then that, id sign robson as a backup for wennie, or id b happy 2 give smith a go at wennie if he wanted that - morts/kk's form would have to be disastrous for me to give him a go ahead of them!!

Hmm I recall some intense posting by Sevens about Timmy in the extinct election thread. Casper seems to have his finger on the pulse, Boo.

Tim Smith eh...? My high hopes for next season on the back of our signings might take a dip if that was to be our next signing. Tim Smith is not the messiah.

I think I know what/who is meant by the negaitive void that Tim Smith fell into... but I'm still not convinced he'd be a first choice halfback over Keating, Robson, or whoever else is coming up through the ranks. Offer him 55K and have him play at Wenty and take his chance if someone gets injured.

That would be the idea I assume...especially if the Tahu signing is as real as it seems, it then means we'd have no more than 55-70 odd grand to offer to any further signings. For that, he'd be a good buy...if he returns to his form of 2005 and 2007 then he's a bargain, if not, then he stays playing for Wenty.

I strongly disagree. He was ranked 2nd in try assists that year and was a huge reason for our march to the finals.
