Our attack has looked better without Soward and he weakens us defensively. If he starts making line breaks and scoring tries in reserve grade then have a look but really he is past it and we are better without him.

Cartwright has defensive issues no doubt but he is better than Soward by a fair margin and offers more with the ball. Why would you want Sowie back? Both games since we dropped we have scored over 20 points with some of the nicest looking attacking plays all season. Our attack improved since we dropped him there is no denying that. So if he isn't improving our attack and he certainly isn't improving our defence why pick him? Carty racked up four try assists the last two weeks, as many as Soward has got all season.

TMM to cover halves and hooker from the bench. With our injury concerns he will almost certainly get a lot of game time if he isn't the one injured. Could probably be a solid fill in at centre .

Be disappointed if we didn't at least have Peachey in the centres over Hiku.

Not my point. Cartwright needs to be in the forwards for different reasons than his defense. He doesn't have the organizational skill to help run a backline - he needs to be just tasked with running and looking for opportunities to be creative when they arise. I was merely pointing out that you can't keep Soward out because of his defense if Cartwright is his replacement.

You could add Grevsmuhl to the poor tackler list. I watched the replay of the bunnies game today and there were at least two occasions when the opposition ran straight past Grevs with little or no effort on his part to make the tackle. Wal got up him on one of the occasions.

Agree. This way you get a look at TMM as well atleast for season and you can decide who the best 6 will be for us.

Peachy is awesome in the centres. He is the best we have at the moment , he is also new to the role and will improve. Not to mention he SCORES TRIES! He is a natural at it, he is combining well with Moylan and will that combo will get better with Moylan at 5/8. I honestly think by next year he will be the best centre in the game.

No way he's going to be near the best centre in the game. Better than Hiku and Blake... maybe. But none have delivered on their potential yet and all are poor defenders. Blake is / was the best defender from this group.

Compare any of them to Whare and it's not even close. Whare sets his winger up. He's a beast in defence and can carve up when the opportunity is there. He's by far our most complete centre. Or he was... his injury could have changed that.

Best centre in the game is a bit much but he's shown some nice things , really feel he may have found his position.

I'd have him over Hiku easily.

What this discussion tells me is that we badly need to find the best defensive coach in the game, and pay him whatever it takes. It is what stands between us and being a top 4 side.

Cartwright is first and foremost a ball player and as such in the halves is his best position. As demonstrated, repeatedly, by his performances when playing there, over the whole of his career.

Sure, man. If you say it, it must be true. I'm not sure why we need these forums, it should just be a blog of your proclamations, delivered down from upon high.

He's not going to be a half with us, so I guess you better get used to the disappointment.
