Time To Dump Origin

As i previously posted - see time to revamp nrl comp - there should be two groups of 8 teams i.e group 1 - sydney based teams and group 2 - non sydney based teams.

to go one step further and a must for the nrl the origin series must be dumped an replaced by a 3 game super series between the two groups.

imagine the backline and forward Battles of the possible starting 13 below - Lockyer/Johns V Prince/Marshall /Morley v Civeniciva /the youngster Farrah v the wily veteran Buderus/ Richards or Grothe v King etc etc

This has the making of a far better series than the current origin series by far as you will combinations and matchup's you currently will never see and this will be the best v the best. A contest can be held for the teams name and jersey's etc.

Think outside the square and come up with your 13 or 17 from players from the teams in the two groups.

One question: So you're suggesting that players would swap between teams, depending on who they are contracted to at the time? ie: take a look at Scott Prince's eligibility between 2002-2007.

great rivalry??? - there is more rivalry between NSW and Victoria - Vics they hate both states and the nrl taking a game down there means nothing to most victorians. My series will mean something to all as it is truely the best v the best as all players no matter whether they are nsw/qld/new zealander/english etc will be eligible for selection for the relevant group they play in.

it is a series that has to happen as origin is stale and old hat

group one will be sydney team based players - group 2 the out of towners surely a recipe for pride and support especially with group 2 containing players from queensland/nz/act/victoria/newcastle/central coast etc
