Ok, my two cents worth from where I was sitting at the southern end of the ground.
Our goal-line defence, and really, defence in general was awesome for the first 30 minutes. The main problem with that is that the game goes for 80 minutes boys
We hit the ground running and then the heat (and no I'm not making excuses, just stating facts) started to take its toll. Deadset, that ground is like an oven when you're inside it. You'll get a puff of breeze every probably 15-20 minutes for a period of roughly 30-40 seconds and then it disappears. Although it's the same for both sides, the Titans play there every second week, so consequently are more used to it than any of the other NRL sides bar maybe the Cows and Broncos.
Now, onto the game. WTF is it with throwing stupid passes inside our own 30? On at least a handful of occasions when we were trying to get out of our own territory, sometimes on the back of tries, we thought we were the Harlem Globetrotters. While it looks good if it comes off, there's a time and a place to be doing that and I'm pretty sure its not coming off your own end.
The forwards kept Prince quiet for the first half hour and then he ran riot, getting the ball whenever he wanted it and pretty much doing whatever he wanted. Aku is still a bit green, but I'm happy to stick with him and Jimmy probably won't make that many errors in a game for the rest of the year. IMO the difference between the two sides, apart from a bit of early season fitness was that the Titans had a very, very good halfback playing halfback, whereas we had a very, very good five-eight playing halfback.
All in all, it's not all doom and gloom guys, it's not like the team will be playing in a sauna every week and there's still 25 long rounds to go.
