I hate to be the bringer of bad tidings but after our last two performances I don't like our chances next week against the warriors.

Yeah, I heard that, at least Nathan Brown is doing a bit of off-loading.

Yeah I was impressed with Brown and Grevsmuhl today.

Grant was down injured a few times but kept getting up and continuing which was gutsy.

McQueen got a cork I heard and also continued.

You read my mind mate. Lol:lol::lol:

That's exactly what I've been thinking. Warriors will be extremely tough to stop and they'll probably offload a lot.

We have the Tigers after that which is a very winnable match. They'll be without Woods and Farah.

Then we get a much needed bye in round 15.

It's worrying to see that no one in our team is an offloader besides Sutto. We really need the forwards to start ball playing well so we can get a better roll on. Issac is also usually a good offloader.

I think in a full strength lineup i'd have Auva'a over Goodwin but also Nathan Brown over Tim Grant. Brown was sensational today even when he was out of position at second row and threw a brilliant pass to AJ to get a great try, and he would bring great impact off the bench. Tim Grant just isn't doing anything imo and gave away a few more stupid penalties today.

Tom should start over George again but the move is getting the best out of both of them and I hope it continues.

Keary tends to come in and out of games but he did very well today his fifth tackle kicking was what was helping us get so many sets. We just need to finish off plays better.

Sutto is so experienced at 6. In regular season games he's got us over the line so many times.

Cody and Keary in the halves is an inexperienced combo which is why Madge won't go that way.

Sutton is very experienced at 5/8. We have had this discussion time and time again.

Last years grand final victory should have put the discussion to bed for ever - the South Sydney football team is a better side with Sutton in the scrum and Keary at 5/8, the facts speak for themselves.
Sadly, some gutsy, grinding victories against Parra and Titans will probably stop Madge from bringing C Walker into firsts. I believe that Souths will pay the price for this hesitancy against better sides in the future.

Just saying, hope I'm wrong (was once - eight years ago, remember it well) I don't think so.

I think the only thing that will bring Cody to first grade is if there's more injuries between now and Reyno coming back. I would like to see Sutton back at second row and Cody given the opportunity but I don't think we can afford to risk it.

Can you expand on that Southy old fellow, is there a particular reason or anything?

I just think Madge seems to prefer re-jig a team with players that he knows rather than bring in new talent until he is forced to bring in the young guys.

Have you any ideas why Madge won't give Cody a start?

I may be wrong but isn't cody walker 25?

I don't think madge sees cody as a long term prospect, our long term prospects are keary and Reynolds so it makes no sense to try develop another long term half. I think walker is there purely as a back up option

When I rank our halves combinations it's still 1. Reynold/keary, 2. Reynolds Sutton, 3. Keary/ Sutton. When none of these options are available is the time to look at other players. I think what counted against walker in the early part of the season was Coming of a suspension.

It makes no sense to give game time and try develop a player who is older and less talented then our number 1 half combo. He is only a backup

I have heard plenty of huge raps on Cody Walker.

He just needs a fair chance to shine.

25 yrs is young.

From all reports he is very classy indeed.

So far he has only had the opportunity to shine in lower grade company.

Who knows how good he might be in class company.

He was the very best player in the Qld Cup & is shining in the NSW Cup--surely he needs a try out!!!!

Reynolds and keary are our long term future, they showed what they can do on last year's finals

Sutton is getting the job done in reynolds absence
Why give walker a go if Sutton in getting the job done and he'll only get replaced the second reynolds is back?
im sure if we have another injury in the halves he'll get picked, but with suttin, keary or reynolds performing then picking walker is unnecessary at the moment ( and really we just need to rack up wins until reynolds is back and we can make a run at the end of the year)
Is walker a viable replacement to reynolds/keary? No
Is sutton filling in at 5-8 detrimental to the team? No
Is walker needed? Not at this stage

He has a broken nose apparently. I reckon he won't miss any games though.

madge might choose to have cody walker at halfback if he feels he may go better at the last tackle plays than keary. keary would still be in the halves though, and sutton would still be effective in the 2nd row. after a man of the match performance today by cody walker, madge may consider it

I agree with that and I am pretty sure Cody is now 25.
