I don't want to sack him. He deserves this season. I don't have much hope but hey imagine we beat souths and cowboys. All of a sudden or season looks different. Plus if we somehow manage to stay close tot he top 8 imagine the forward pack once Lane and RCG are back.

Smoking Joe is still an upgrade on everyone on our bench.

8 Jnr
9 Hands
10 Rcg
11 Lane
12 Matto
13 Hopgood

14 Bryce/JA/Asi
15 Ofengue
16 Grieg
17 Morreti

This is how id roll. Morretti needs to be given a go now. He has outplayed every forward most weeks in NSW CUP.

Davey,Ogden,Makatoa,Murchie,Doorey are handy back ups.

Matalele doesn't look like he is in favour. And still things to work on defense wise

If everyone was available, I would mix it up a little.

8 Greig
9 Hodgson
10 RCG
11. Lane
12. Cartwright
13. Hopgood

14. Hands
15. Matto
16. Joffa
17. Junior

Int 1: 15-20 mins Greig off -> Paulo on
Int 2: 25-30 mins RCG off -> Joffa on
Int 3: 30 mins Hodgson off -> Hands on
Int 4: 30 mins Hopgood off -> Matto on
Int 5: 55 mins Junior off -> RCG on
Int 6: 55 mins Cartright off -> Hopgood on
Int 7: 55 mins Joffa off -> Greig on
Int 8: 65 mins Greig off -> Junior on

We always have one of Junior or RCG on the field and each play about 50 mins.
Matto plays 50 mins (middle and edge)
Hopgood plays 50 mins
Greig plays max 30 mins
Joffa plays max 30 mins
Hodgson plays max 30 mins
Hands plays 50 mins
Lane plays 80 mins
Carty plays 55 mins

I always think start with your strongest 13. I just prefer that mentality. Get off to the best possible start you can. 25mins before your first change. Game could be over.

I wouldn't pick Hodgson anymore. He needs a spell in NSW CUP. Id be happy to run with Hands and give JA 20 mims at hooker or Bryce.

For the last 3 years we have lost impact when both Junior and RCG are off at the same time.
The only way to solve that is to have one of them on the bench and so using Greig for the 1st 15-20 mins and then bringing Junior on before replacing RCG means we have one at all times. Greig is developing nicely as that big bopper off the back fence role, he has decent PCM's and a decent tackle efficiency and he hits pretty hard when he wants to. Also not a bad PTB speed as he most often ends up on his front when tackled.

That's what I think too.
You dont want Greig and Jnr on at the same time either.

And if Matto is also on the Bench with Offa, then you get Jnr, Matto and Offa coming on.

Of course Lane has to be fit and then carty on the other edge.

After saying that, I actually prefered carty in the middle rather than the edge but to keep the strike power going, best for Matto to come off the bench or start on the edge and move to the middle for Hopgood

At some stage, there has to be a realization that near enough is not good enough.

You made a whole lot of seriously valid points but the above quote of yours is the pertinent one.

One would think that a club as big as ours would be expecting to win a comp at least once every 10 years or maybe even less than that. It's a no brainer.
After 37 years having not won a premiership at all, one would hope that the club may become more aggressive in their pursuit of premiership glory.
I believe 2001 was that chance. We blew it big time.
In 2009 we got lucky to make the GF on the back of one player who is now in jail. It was then proven we were beaten by cheats.
Last year all the chess pieces fell into place. Yet, we were still well off the pace.

It is such a shame that we have been run by decision makers who are clowns, for decades.
The lowest of the lows was when we employed a former plumber to run the joint.

We have the finances to hire the best in the business. We need a ruthless board. We need a ruthless coach.
The time has come to stop doing what you said. Near enough is not good enough.

The risk with going overly ruthless is that if it doesn't breed success reasonably quickly and relatively regularly then you just become a pack of merkins no one wants to deal with, it's a fine line I reckon

Professionalism requires accountability, and responsibility, and you don't want a culture that's anathema to merkins accepting and owning either due to fear of reprisal.

Maybe ruthless was the wrong word, but I'm sure you know what point I was making.
In the end, our lack of success for decades has been embarrassing and just not good enough.

Commbank wouldn't be big enough if we'd had the successful run that the Panthers have had over the past 3 years. This is the type of massive potential we are missing out on.
Another 2 years of BA is just going to take us to 39 years without success.
It is time for some serious change.
It needs to start sooner rather than later.

**EDIT - someone got their wires crossed and this is a proposal not a thing.** thank god!
Just read online (not officially just on social media) that we have done a deal/agreement to play the rabbitohs EVERY indigenous round moving forward.

crazy!

our bogey team, arguably the proudest club indigenous club, and we will cop them every time.

Isn’t that just what TCT would like to see?
