Fiction: Hayne has only played a couple of good games all year

Fact: he was massive against Manly in rounds 2 and 10; was huge in both games against the Cowboys in rounds 7 and 18 and very good against the Storm in round 13 and the Bulldogs in round 8. Oh - and then was out of this world against the Panthers.

Has had one 'bad' game this year (by his standards) vs the Tigers in round 3.


Most people will say that Boyd is playing REALLY well this season, but the inconvenient truth is that Hayne has scored more tries, made more line breaks, returns the ball better, runs more and further - in fact the surprising thing is that the only area Boyd is 'better' is in the try assists category (he has 13 to Hayne's 12 on the season).

Apparently Hayne is 'playing crap' this year, but is still streets ahead of all the other FBs in the league statistically - maybe the real problem is that unless he produces an effort like last night everyone thinks that he's not playing well???

No other fullback in the comp can do the things that he can do when he has 'one of his games' - when he's not having those games (like most of this season) - he's just plain old 'still better than everyone else'...

Hayne is the smartest man on earth and times his run of form perfect every year,he knows he can turn it on whenever he wants,why would he waste his energy and time playing great in every single game when he knows all you have to do is make the top 8 .

The real problem with Jarryd Hayne, is that he raised the bar so high last year, and anything below last years form, he's criticized.


There is no doubt that Slater and Boyd are excellent players, but for f**ks sake, look at the playing roster around them. Both players have a good forward pack, with good hookers and exceptional halves.

Slot those players in the current parra team, and both will struggle. f**k me, the late great Clive Churchill will struggle.

Jarryd Haynes form HASN'T been down all year. He has been targeted by the opposition and nullified to an extent.

Parras inconsistency through the halves this year has been the real problem. Hayne has to play as a half, as well as fullback.
