I can fairly safely say tht Eniss is not being looked at PJ.
Unless he can play Prop/ 5/8th Centre and/or kick.
Don't ruin my fun. You forgot the "another 2nd rower" part aswell ;-)

I look at it this way, who's more likely to leave? Sullivan or Peach? Sullivan. It's much more important to get him squared away before the June 30 deadline, cause we all know that the line of clubs waiting to sign him will be a mile long. With Peach the scenario is different. Peach is unlikely to leave unless he is pushed by the club so we can put him on the backburner until more pressing concerns are dealt with. This in no way means Peach is not a priority. I very much doubt Peach is out there testing the open market to the same extent Sullivan would be, and if Peach is anything like what I think he's like, I doubt he's insanely worried about waiting his turn.

Long story short, ink Gallen next week, then talk to Peachey when all else is squared away.

Post June 30 we can worry about Lockyer, Johns, Orford, and Wiki.

He's our leading tryscorer this year, and way up in the try assists. With Peachey and Kimmorley out this weekend there goes 50% of our attacking potential.
I'd like to see him finish his career as a Shark, and that's not only for sentimental reasons.

Wonder what Luke Ricketson's got to say on this?

As much as I love Peach I still believe there can be no room for sentimentality. He is either the best available in his position, or is an emerging talent who is likely to become the best in his position.

I think we can rule out the latter.

While his form over the last couple of years hasn't been what we are used to seeing from him i.e. cutting defences to shreds, he is still IMO our best option for fullback.
He also seems to have altered his game to more of a second 5/8th or playmaker role and is far more involved in calling the shots and setting things up for his supports.
That is where I think he is invaluable, and should therefore be re-signed - but only a year at a time.

The peach we gotta have him for at least next year. How bad were we last week without him in attack....resign him

Sullivan is the gem we can't afford to let get away.
He's still very young and improving steadily every year. (A player on the rise)
At the moment I think he is in better form than Craig Wing who play a similar type of game. Speed from the dummy half with the 10 metre rule is so crucial.

Peachey can turn a game for us still, BUT is certainly more fragile to injury and LONG layoffs. The hammy episode last year was a case in point and this current problem should see him out for an extended period as well. These problems will only become more frequent next year. BUT if he is resigned, only one year at a time for sure. And definately on a very reduced salary and only if there's no one better to replace him but if there is.........

His attributes are quickly diminishing. Defence was one quality which has eroded in the past two seasons and was once a real strong point. Speed long gone. That leaves try assists which he is still very reliable. But if we get a genuine playmaking 5/8 or Aitkin comes up with the goods ,Kimmorley at half and Sully at hooker do we need another organiser? Or would we be better off with a runner?

I don't understand what you are going on about with Peachies injuries.
You were the main Anderson fan on this forum.
Peachey played 24 matches last year to help him so he wouldn't look even more humiliated.
In hind sight, Peach would have been better sitting half the season out like every other footballer has & recovered.
Something peach has never done. No Knees. No shoulders.
He would have ben 110%(ding ding) ready for this year then , no?
For the record, Peachey has only missed a handful of games over 3 seasons.
Including this one. Thats less than 8
02 he ws 6th highes ttry scorere with 17 tries & well on the way to equalling that feat this year.
in 02 he broke Big Micks record for consecutive tries in a game scoring at least one in 7 consecutive matches.
Your opinion on Peachey is wrong & you are carrying it on because you have backed yourself into a corner on this topic.
We owe Peach a return of loyalty & passion that he has shown us especially over the last 2 debacles of years.
he is durable because he plays with injury but more importantly he performs with injury.
In regards to his defense, he has had 1 bad game in defense, ever, fullstop, no rgument & that was against St George
& here is his games played record.
In 2003 Peach played 24 games, in 2002 he played 21 games and scored 17 tries, 20 games played in 2001, 22 games in 2000 and 24 games in 1999
If anything, Peach is playing better now then when his last contract was awarded because he is the team leader & instigator.

Whats the problem with signing Peach?
Dont we get him at a discount rate under the cap as well? (long service or something?)
The guy would be a fair dinkum bargain.

How many games did Peachey play last season where he was no where near 100% fitness? Plenty!!! Or are you telling me that's all the speed he's got??? Your right on one thing no major injuries other than his legs but in this area he has been handicapped badly in the past couple of seasons.

Have you forgotten the well documented hammy injuries that plagued Peachey all last year??????????????? How did he go against the West Tigers at Leichardt last year???

Anyway I've said my piece on the Peachey issue for now what the club does is their perogative. But if they give him another two year deal the Sharks have resigned a player on a steep decline rather than a talented younger player on the rise.............

That's something I hadn't thought of. Is Peach up for the 10 year discount?

Even if we do get a discount for Peachey can we afford to spend more than the cap?

Also can someone please clear this up for me. Have we actually re-signed Sullivan or not? Ive heard conflicting reports.

There is going to be a big clean out this year. Thats the one certainty. Ive been told the likes of:
Bosnich
Franze
McGoldrick
Beattie
and a few others have been told they can start looking elsewhere as they are not being resigned or are being released. Raper is rightfully going to start moulding the team he wants.
