Wicks defence was terrible.

Not only did he miss 6 tackles, his lazy slide and non existant push form marker lead to other missed tackles and two tries.

Everyone should take the 'hate' glasses off for a while and let the emotion of losing settle in before they start bagging. ESPECIALLY - Ben Cross = 21 tackles & 13 hit ups for 123 metres - THE MOST BY ANY KNIGHT - SO get off your high horses and actually watch a game positionally wise and you might be surprised. It was his first game back - sure we mightn't be getting value for money but I'll take his effort today as quality and look forward to what he can provide in the last few games!!!!!

No Cross hate here. IMO he was ordinary it's not always about stats. Saying that he was the only one of Smiths forward replacements that I'd keep for next week.

It's funny seeing you deny hating Cross when your agenda is so clear.

If that was White or Tolar who turned in that performance you'd be all over it.

And as for VUNA in the centres - Fair dinkum - Brian should have given me a call - I couldn't have done any worse - He SUCKS big time and I can't get all the love for him in here - If only the NRL still had a reserve grade team I know here he'd be - and might even be captain

I couldn't believe how many minutes Cross had to play in his comeback match.

Again down to Smith. He brought back three forwards from injury, one of which is flat out playing 20 mins and none of that is any quality (Guess who?) so someone has to take up the slack, and that's hard when you're out for so long.

It has to say alot that 38 points get leaked when Royal/Cross/Wicks are all in the team.

I can recall one other time something similar has happened this year, and it was an exact replica - vs Broncos at EAS.

The defense suffers when all 3 of the above have terrible lateral movement in defense.

They can't all be in the team.

Royal and Wicks should be out, but I get the feeling Wicks won't be. And that's a disgrace.

Agree! Royal's was ABYSMAL.

Get over it I am not bagging Cross, I am bagging Smiths selections today including Royal, Wicks, and Karawana how he came into the equation in the first place is a mystery only Brian Smith knows the answer to. The side didn't need to be changed, maybe Cross for Taufua that's it.

I guess its just sad that the defensive lapses came in a game where we least needed the lapses.


Everyone ( bar Buderus ) can take responsibility in that. The Vuna/Uate side was a turnstile waiting to happen ( and was ) , and Royal/Wicks lateral defense was sh*t - and Mullen can be a massive grabber from time to time too and seemed to lack motivation.

Everyone seems to want to focus on what our halfback brings and our attack, but its clear from today, that its the last thing we need to worry about.

Guys we had 38 points scored against us. Let's fix that first.
