Todd Carney sacked

Swarzey very well said. The double standards in Rugby League are sickening.

I do not condone this behaviour one iota, but we will most likely see Blake Ferguson running out in the NRL next season.

The NRL have dropped their standards so low it is worse than society itself.

I would also like to take square aim at Greenberg, the man himself has also been embroiled in controversy no less.

Players deserve a second chance to show they can learn from their mistakes. Carney is well past that

How many chances do you want to give him? If it was the first time he had f**ked up it would be a small fine but he has the longest list of f**kups in the comp. It's clear he is never going to change and keeping him does a lot of damage to the club

Who does he hurt here? Because no one is except for himself. Allow him to cop the criticism and continue to finish the year at the Sharks. All this tells me is that the Sharks don't want to deal with it and want it to become his responsibility and his only. They're taking the easy way out by sacking him now instead of doing what should be done and provide him with whatever he needs to sort his issues out.

Without any support, he's just going to do worse. Unless there's stuff being covered up at Cronulla and this just topping it off, the Sharks should simply fine him and tell him he isn't wanted for 2015.

Sacking him doesn't mean immediatly washing their hands (lol) of him. They could still help him get mental health support like the Knights did with the bloke they stuck with during his trial even though they sacked him.

I have never emailed the club before, but I have now, I advised them I am done, I will not spend another dollar on this club nor watch another game, been going since 1979, hundreds of games thousands of dollars invested in the club, no more the way we crucify players is a joke, no wonder we haven't won anything.

He hurts the game and humiliates the club, it's sponsors and it's fans.

If it were a one-off he might have been ok but this is a guy who has bee sacked from 2 clubs previously after drink and neg driving, running from the police, pissing on people, hitting the pubs while on drinking bans, setting people on fire, trashing cars and getting banned from his home town.

Carney is just getting out before the ship sails at Cronulla!

I'd take him at Brisbane please!

He hurts his employer who is paying him $500k a year and is struggling to attract sponsorship which is a major revenue stream. Keeping him at the club makes getting sponsors even harder
