Your post yesterday 20th March 2019 A.D. 7.31pm.

"Some very big and rich companies."

In my book very big and rich companies are not the local Gloria Jeans franchise, but the RIOs etc.

Show the post where you claim I said there are big companies willing to sponsor an nrl Perth team. Your bullshitting I never said that. Fake News.
I stated the fact which is that there are big and rich companies in Perth. I didn’t say hey will definitely sponsor an nrl club I don’t know, but there is more opportunity when you have have big rich companies in your city.

the local,Gloria jeans isn’t forking out $1million to sponsor an nrl club!

Haha yeh it’s not like industry to peddle apocolyptic stories to try and get out of paying more taxes or having to increase costs to help out the workforce or environment lol.

You have no idea what next tv deal will be, no one does. There has never been a lower tv deal than the previous one. There is no evidence to suggest the next one will be any different. Fox’s and. Inez revenues are up.

They are spending around $45mill a year on suns and gws, and allegedly reaping. $52million form the extra content they offer. Expansion to 18 teams will cost around $30-35million a year depending on next club grant deal. That’s the extra revenuetarget the nrl needs to aim for the ninth game to me it a cost neutral exercise.

It’s clear from Greenberg’s statement that they know they can’t grow significantly with the current 16 club footprint and reach they have and need to address that, one way or another.

LOL but you are quite prepared to suggest in many of your posts ,the extra game will bring in more money. But now you admit, you and I don't know what then ext Tv deal will be ,so you are p*ssing in the wind.
No one can predict the economy 5 years form now, with an expected change of Govt.

Ok mate ,you didn't understand.
On 20th March Franklin2323 asked you "What infrastructure does Perth have to prove they can sustain a team"
You responded in part
" Some very big and rich companies."

I simply asked "have they committed financially "on 20th March..Just a general ,not a smart a*se enquiry.
For me a big company is a major public company. It's no big deal if they haven;t been approached or knocked it back.Just asking FFS.

IOW just saying there are big companies in a state doesn't mean they'll jump on board. We have very big and rich companies domiciled in Sydney. The Storm is in a city with very big and rich companies and they have got Purple Brick ,as front of jersey sponsor.
Most of Sydney NRL club sponsors are middle tier companies yes some rich no doubt.eg Sharks with Ace Guttering.
The Cowboys have a big company.,Knights with NIB,Dragons with St George.

And I never claimed these big companies will jump on board, I’m glad you’ve admitted your mistake there. Having big rich companies in a city is a good start but no guarantee. Others have said over the years that companies are waiting to get on board but I have no idea who or how much as I’m not running a bid and don’t move in them circles.

How can they commit when there is no expansion and no bid? If nrl ever decides what it’s doing and calls for bids then I would think we will see bids lining up potential sponsors to show viability in their bid.

End of day size of company is irrelevant, it’s size of sponsorship that matters. Most clubs are in the $6-7million sponsorship range. That will be our starting target.

Re Purplebricks, ideal type of sponsor. New to Australia market, already got substantial international revenue, Looking to grow brand on back of a major sport.

Examples
"There's a major opportunity with corporates in Perth and we know they want to be part of the NRL as a national brand. . - Perry Lopez

The [Perth] consortium that's waiting for some direction from the league has been there for some time, we just need to resurrect it. Getting money out of Perth is the easy bit." - Laurie Puddy

Sackson was confident the WARL could match Sage’s proposed $20 million proposal for the Perth team as well as attracting a host of wealthy sponsors. - John Sackson

I value our content as much as afl’s, so yes I can’t see any reason more content wouldn’t be worth more money,

The NRL will go to Perth.
I don't believe people are still arguing about this.

Even the visionless Greenberg knows it needs to happen.
They'll have another go in due course, no doubt, but it's enemy territory, and if the Reds were so successful, they wouldn't have been vaporized. But I wish them well. They've got a few expat easterners. In saying that I REALLY don't think Adelaide will work.

Perth is much more open to other sports. Wildcats are best supported baseball team,Farce still draw 15k despite being nothing more than a mining billionaires toy, Glory do ok despite a decade of terrible teams and the two afl clubs punch well above their weigh for a city our size. We like our live sport in the West and most Westerners will barrack for a Perth team just because it’s representing Perth, regardless of the sport.

I’m sure Ten/CBS would pay $50m over 5 years for a game (or two).

$10m a year for 23 games

No one is falling over, there is a bail out fund and clubs are now getting $5mill a year extra grant. You’d have to be very incompetent not to be able to make ends meet now.
Everybody seems to assume the last sentence. I don't agree. There are plenty of morons out there, now and in the future, that will continue to drive clubs into the ground no matter how big the grant is.

Raise the salary cap but do not raise the club grant by the same amount. No more setting the rules to the lowest common denominator.
Didn't Joker Grant offer and then sign off on Cap + 30% as the grant to save his job?

St’s are now jointly owned by WIN who presumably could cover losses
They also have a massive supporter base throughout the country due to their sustained period of on-field success between 1950-1990.

Adelaide, Gosford, and Wellington will be on standby.
Central Coast is too close to Sydney, they would in fact be another Sydney team when there are already too many. Their ship sailed 20 years ago when they failed to support the Northern Eagles. Adelaide is very iffy, its a very conservative AFL town, just 2/3 the population of Perth with not many expats. NZ2 might work but I wouldn't count on it.

He did, but it doesn't necessarily have to last forever.
I think it will be like a clause in an EBA, to take it out, you'd have to offer more somewhere else.

I don't know and would welcome clarification but I'd be surprised if the clubs gave that one up easily.
