Todd Greenberg stands down

Not really a Greenberg fan here but his sacking won’t prevent certain clubs from sacking their coach while the team is in the top 4, or the ones that go through 3 CEOs in 12 months, or certain players who can’t keep their d*ck in their pants and cost their club a million dollars in sponsorship just before the NRL competition is set to start.

But hey, I’m sure we’ll get a CEO who understands how important the clubs are and how they’re doing such a sterling job at fiscal management.

If they reported it the way PR would like the figure would look worse for Greenberg not better ffs. You two clowns are only agreeing because you love to defend Greenberg and he loves to criticise the nrl, you aren’t saying the same thing at all.

lol, there is no logic or validity to the few line items they have decided to pick out of the annual report. It neither shows the “cost of running the comp” “the cost of running the game” and it certainly does not in any way shape or form reflect the administration cost of the nrl, which is what they were trying to claim it does. It is misleading, false and designed for one purpose, to unfairly make Greenberg look bad at his job. It’s sht journalism 101, and some have fallen for it hook, line and sinker (looking at you mate)

I've made it clear on a number of occasions over the years that I'm no fan of Todd Greenberg.

My biggest issue being what I perceive to be the lack of a clear vision for the game; with expansion still a fairly muddled mess despite 6 years in office.

BUT...

I am happy to put my feelings towards Greenberg aside for a moment in pursuit of what clearly remains the biggest stain on the game - namely still being dictated to by mediocre and archaic media organisations.

It's embarrassing, poisonous and destructive; just to name a few choice descriptive words.
I hope to f**king god 10 have their finances ready for a bid once the rights are up again for negotiation.

What's the bet 9 use these circumstances to force some extended garbage contract and the NRL just bends over and says yeah fine.

Hahaha oh yes I’m firmly hooked by the media  Ironic comic from you considering they’ve turned you from a Greenberg hater to Greenberg defender. The media doesn’t change my opinions mate, it seems like they can trigger you without much trouble though.

Can you explain how it would look worse? Seems like a random piece of speculation from you.

he wants the club grant included as expenditures. He literally said the figure is 9m odd a week. Now I’m no Maths genius but 500k a day is less than 9m a week I’m pretty certain.

He has said in multiple comments the clubs grants should be included, maybe you should read what he is saying before you start agreeing with him.

It sounds like you actually understand the point being made but place greater value on catching people out on maths. Good for your champ, have fun with that. I'm out.

It sounds like I understand everything that has been said here better than you do that is for sure.

Well who honestly didn't see it coming?

Once you found out clubs were losing faith in Todd and with Vlandys making most of the decisions, it was bound to happen soon.

There's no doubt it's a tough job, so once the competition gets back to normal, who's willing to take on this role?

I don’t get why most of you think Todd did everything by decree and of his own volition. If it operates like pretty much every other sport with a commission/ownership council etc. The CEO implements the policies handed down from above.

so the spending, digital arm, club grants, etc etc would all have to have been commission decisions.

Vlandys is somehow dodging this detail. He was on the commission when these decisions were made. Mmmm

Those archaic media or traditional media companies got a big victory today with the announcement that global tech giants Google and Facebook will have to PAY media companies, especially Nine Entertainment in this country, for siphoned used content posted on their sites.

They are about to make even more money - and the NRL can benefit from that.
