Who likes Tool? I like Tool. They will be touring North America this northern summer, I always get excited when there is movement in the Tool universe after a spell of inactivity. Perhaps they will tour here? I assume they will be writing whilst on tour, I won't expect an album for another year or so.

Taking their time releasing an official one, plenty of fakes around though, my mate got burnt that way.

Tool are awesome. A sound of their own you never know where a song is going when you first hear it.

Rosetta stoned is a great example of this but there are many that fit that.

As already stated they are something special to see live..

They are obviously weird f*ckers looking at their film clips but like their songs you are not quite sure what to expect next and it is always quality. They are right up there as my all time best band.

As said, Tool are a brilliant live band. Saw them twice when they released Lateralus and was little more than a casual fan but they blew me away, then they came back for a second run and in a week I saw them in Brisbane, Newcastle, Melbourne, Sydney, Wollongong and Canberra, an amazing and tiring week. The last tour they did when they were on BDO was great but nothing as spectacular as the Lateralus tours, only saw their sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne that time. I'd love a live DVD to be released.

I recognise their obvious talent, and I appreciate their unique sound...But I just can't get into Tool.

I like most of their music on all of their albums, and perhaps if I'd never met any tool fans I'd like them a lot....

But f**king hell if ever need an example of a band who I will simply refuse to see live ever again it is tool.

Managed to avoid being dragged to their concert in 2002 by my then girlfriend, and glad I didn't go.

When her and her brother arrived home gushing about it the first story was how an announcement was made that Maynard would not come out on stage until everyone put their cameras away, and until then would be behind a f**king sheet. What kind of absolute wanker is he?

Saw them live in Tokyo at Summersonic in 2006, and while the music was fine (really not understanding the whole "greatest live band ever" thing btw) the barrage of screaming fans who kept trying to lecture me on tool's greatness once they found they were not my favourite band led me to walk out after about 40 minutes.

Honestly, I have them on my ipod and enjoy their stuff, but f**king hell they are the most up themselves band with the most tragically obsessed fans this side of U2

Have you seen them live? That was the catalyst for me getting in to them a lot more.

I love the music Tool produces, but Maynard is one of the biggest douchebags of a front man to ever grace this planet. I may go and see them in a few weeks, I'm based in Canada now for work, they're playing in Edmonton which is like 2 hours drive from where I am, but I hate giving money to that pr*ck. My hatred for Maynard is only rivaled by my hatred for Trent Reznor.

On the plus side, Rise Against and Rancid are touring together 2 weeks before that, and I have tickets for Iron Maiden 2 weeks after that. I'm also going to Heavy Mtl which has Rob Halford, Rob Zombie, Megadeth, Slayer, Korn, Alice Cooper, Lamb of God, Mastodon, Fear Factory, Alexisonfire, Hatebread, Atreyu, Shadows Fall and Chimaira performing... Life is good

Great band with one of the greatest rock drummers (not that he's really a rock drummer) to ever grace the planet.

Aenema is their best, closely followed by Lateralus.

I'm a casual Tool fan, don't own any albums but listen to their "big tracks".

Saw them live and they had an awesome tight sound. Not much happening with the band movement on stage though.

I have seen Opeth twice now, great, brilliant, even possibly top 5, but still.... Tool > Opeth.
