Top 50 albums of the noughties...?

Serious lack of Hip Hop, but I wouldn't expect a magazine such as that to pay much attention to independent releases, such as The Cold Vain by Cannibal Ox.

A complete lack of metal too.

It's difficult as you say though - even if a magazine tried its hardest to cover all genres it's unlikely they would have someone on staff that really knew their metal AND someone that really knew their hip hop AND someone that really knew their indie etc.

My list wouldn't have any of those albums on it.

This list shows just how sh*thouse music has become.

A list from the 70's, 80's and 90's would be a billion times better than this list.

It is an enormous call to put 'In Rainbows' ahead of 'Kid A'...

It is prepared by NME, so it will have minimal Hip Hop or Metal in it. Find a magazine that covers every genre and you might get a balanced list.

Any music mag without metal in it should be immediately destroyed.

if you think this list is bad you should have seen 20 to 1 last night.
The best live acts.

K.Minouge got in...so did coldplay.

lol, I thought to myself before that show "I bet this is just going to be the 20 most popular artists, rather than best shows". I was right.

John Farnham ffs.

I also like how they put Gunners in there, but also saying "They turned up 3 hours late to one show" and "Axl is known to walk out on shows". f**king joke of a show.

Radiohead are so overrated.

The Libertines are a pathetic band as well, only famous because of their junkie publicity whore singer, who no one even knows outside the UK anyway.

Compare that list to a Top 50 of the 90s where you had albums like Nevermind, Ten, Ok computer, Blood sugar sex magic, Superunknown, siamese dream, grace, enter the wu, illmatic, the chronic, reasonable doubt, crooked rain crooked rain......the naughts were disgraceful.

Yeah because none of THOSE leadsingers were anything more than sober... :sarcasm:

whether people agree or not, the Metallica album Death Magnetic should be on that list somewhere.

So should the debut album of Butterfly Effect.

And I'm not sure when it was released, but Sinner by Drowning Pool is also f**king awesome.

Absolutely - "Death Magnetic" is an awesome listen imo. The Butterfly Effect, imo, have yet to release a bad album. And Drowning Pool's "Sinner" was the sh*t a while back.

I guess you might even argue that Limp Bizkit's "Chocolate Starfsh and the Hot Dog-Flavoured Water" should be in there somewhere - who didn't know of "Rollin'"?

You know what, I'd actually rate TISM's The White Albun above everything in every top 50 list posted in this thread.

Again, how can a list of the top 50 albums of the decade stick to pretty much just one genre?
