Hehe :)
Ten unbeaten, nine wins and a draw. Even then, winning five in a row is nothing to sneeze at. We were poor against Newcastle at St.James' and still managed a draw, we just seem to be on another level, really only City is playing better than us at the moment.

We are officially in the best form of any team in the EPL; 28 points from a possible 30 in the last ten games. Comparatively, City have taken 26 from 30.

Probably down to the fact that the big teams have to play their first teams three times in a week once every three weeks cause they play in the Champions league.

While you and Stoke can play your reserves and be fit and ready to go for the PL games on the weekend.

Had it not been for our midweek game against BVB last week we would have beaten Fulham and would be on a similar run to you guys.

I await your reply, filled with :lol:s no doubt. God knows how funny posting shit about football on the internet can be.

You think I care?
What point are you trying to prove, other than you are having a tantrum?
We are third and I'm happy to see how we go from here.
Nah, I'm not laughing. Because you aren't a humorous fellow. Bunniesderp is.
Although I am struggling not to laugh at someone defending the opinion of the most despised troll ever seen on this forum.
Unlike you, I am very realistic about my own club's chances. Everybody knows we can't keep this up. But most actually do believe we will make the top four from here, I'm a bit more cautious with that and after the WBA game am definitely taking each game one at a time.

*I'm not having a tantrum...i'm having fun. It's been fckn ages since i've had any sort of argument online. Forgot how fun they are.

** I'm not defending his opinion. I'm defending Arsenal and my opinion. Obviously because he supports them too we would probably have similar views.

*** If anyone has realistic views it would be an Arsenal fan haha. Having not won anything in 6 years my expectations are pretty low. I do expect us to make top 4 though.

Fwiw, i think we will both make the top four. AVB is running Chelsea into the ground and unless they make some signings during the jan window i can't see that changing. But it's not even like there are players available to go and buy. They need to pretty much change their whole team.

Haha I see your point, if anything I was getting way to worked up.
That's fair enough.
I almost forget Spurs won a trophy a few years ago. I agree with the sentiment, I think only the really optimistic fans think we are top four certainties.
Agreed regarding Chelsea, for all the talk about their attack compared to Mourinho's team they are nowhere near as good as they were, their defence is shocking.
They have a heap of aging players that they need to phase out or get rid of, I don't trust AVB or Abramovic to make the right purchased though.

They're a shambles at both ends of the park. Torres is the spanish Heskey, and whilst Drogba is still relatively effective he's old, leaving at the end of the season and just getting in the way of Torres or Sturridge playing themselves into some sort of form.

The only creative player in their midfield is Mata and most of the time he's thrown out on the wing.

And the longer they stick with that ridiculous high line the longer Terry, Bosingwa, Cole and Luiz will get exposed.

That and also Cech is falling apart.

I can't see it changing, Abramovic just buys the flavour of the month (Torres, Lukaku and even AVB). They just assumed they'd be able to get Modric and that blew up in their face cause they didn't even try go for anyone else, aside from Mata.

The longer it stays like that the better cause atm with the way you guys are going, considering it was supposed to be a three way fight between arsenal, spurs and liverpool for fourth spot, the only way we look like cracking it is if Chelsea continue their annual slide.

Agreed with all of that.
Apparently Chelsea provided false quotes to the papers to incite Modric to come and to create a rift. Even if that isn't true, you can see how desperate they were. I think Modric knows he made the right decision, though I'm under no illusions if we don't make the CL he will depart, along with Bale and perhaps VDV.

My dream top four based on unrealistic expectations would involve Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle. I don't think Liverpool will make it, Newcastle definitely won't, us two clubs I can't really tell.

I'm assuming in that order haha?

Unless you guys pick some injuries or go through a rough patch i think we might be in trouble. That start of the year has really fcked us over, i knew at the time it was bad, but considering how well we have been doing recently and we are still that far behind the rest of the top 4, i didn't realize it was THAT bad.

Chelsea are just a scummy club. They probably realize that at this point they need to bring in at least 4 or 5 players to get back to the level they once were. I think they were looking for a quick fix cause i get the feeling that if Roman has to chuck in a whole heap of money for another team he may not do it. Before the Torres transfer it was looking like he was getting finally getting tired of it.

To be honest I think it's better this way, if we had progressed into the competition we would have been pressed into playing our best players regularly.
Bit of a rude awakening but it allows us to focus on the far more important potential UCL qualification.

Europa is like the Carling Cup of Europe. Who gives a shit. If we are forced to play in it next year i'd rather us get knocked out by playing juniors than advancing playing the first team.

Come jan/feb/march you'll have a massive advantage not playing in it.

even tho we had a decent line up, we still made 9 changes from last weekends game against WBA and its been good watching some of these kids play, Livermore in particular

apparently we can still get through with a decent win over Hearts but from there on we'll be up against the UCL drop outs so it will mean playing at full strength or near enough

Good morning news!
Harry Redknapp got his second Barclays Manager of the Month award for the season (September, November), and Scott Parker got the Barclays Player of the Month award!
Before I went to bed last night, I also saw that VDV may yet be fit for tonight.

I read the article about Juventus being favourites to sign Leandro.
Typical gutter journalism, it references a paper in which Leandro 's manager says Juve is an option.
We need him god dammit!!!
