we've played all the teams in the top 10 except Chelski and WBA, who we play this weekend

then we have all the bottom half teams and Chelski early next year

and another interesting stat is that we have more points from away games so far that we have at home and thats what we couldn't do last year, but thats mainly because we've played more away

and on top of all that we still have a game in hand, Everton at home which will be played around 20th Jan 2012

The Aston Villa game yesterday morning would have to go down as the least stressful spurs game I've ever seen. It made a nice change from usual ..

If Bale gets his crossing/shooting back like he had last year, he'll be unstoppable. He beats players so easily but he is just a bit off when it comes time to cross and shoot

Bale's crosses are still brilliant this season, but yeah aside from beating players easily he is being a bit selfish this year and still isn't at his blistering best.
Frankly though, he has played consistently well throughout the season which is great even if he isn 't performing at his best.
Agreed, he will be unstoppable when he starts playing better, I have said it all season that even though he is below his best he has made every right-back in the EPL he has come up against look like amateurs.
FFS Aston Villa played two right-backs and still couldn't handle him!
Very exciting times ahead, there is no doubt he has the potential to be one of the best players in the world - he's arguably the best left winger in the EPL already and at 22 will only get better.

It's telling that Harry, Gareth and even a few people like Mark Bosnich think we can win the league, albeit with some inclusions such as Leandro.

we are no chance at winning the League imo, no depth in our strikers

just on Bale he does attract 2 players from most teams now, and he really is not up to last years form, second year syndrome or the opposition teams mark him up better or what ever it is, he has his whole career in front of him and will get better but his form atm is very encouraging

also as the commentators said yesterday, you cant afford to put two defenders on him otherwise we just cross to Lennon who has just as much pace and wont be marked, and Walker is not far behind him and Walker is a very attacking fullback who would not look out of place on Lennon's wing if he got injured, he's scored goals for Villa, Spurs and England

not a bad record for a 20 year old fullback

Walker would be pushing Bale and Lennon for pace I reckon, very quick . Bale started at fullback, wonder if Walker will make the switch too one day

Pfft we have no chance of coming first, harry just says that every year

I didn't say we would, there's no way we can outlast City and United over a whole season. I used that to say confidence is very high and many people think we are the best team in the EPL not from Manchester.

Funny thing is Twiz, I am pretty sure he has nearly matched his goal/assist statistics from last season in the league already, although of course having a good striker and a fit VDV makes a huge difference.
My problem with Bale last season was he was very inconsistent, he seems to be playing far more consistently this season, now he just needs to get up to his best and maintain it as best he can.

I think Walker is about as fast as Bale and Lennon, we have three speedsters on the fringes and surely the fastest right wing in the EPL. It's no surprise teams struggle to deal with us on the edges.

I'd say Bale Lennon and Walker in that order.

Walker just seems to have a very attacking mindset, he passes off to Lennon or Kaboom and immediately tracks around them to receive the pass from them in an attacking position and you need pace to do that.

Charlie certainly doesn't do but probably a better defensive fullback, although Walkers defensive capabilities have definitely improved this year.

I think over long distance Bale is the fastest, over the short distance Lennon is the fastest. I can't really tell to be honest, all three of them are absolute speedsters.
That assist he provided for VDV in the Blackburn game is definitely the best example, he passed it to Adebayor, who held it up for a few seconds, then flicked it behind him for Walker to dash around the nearby players and set up a tap-in. All three of them are very dangerous in open space because few players could catch them, let alone defenders.
Vedran is a better defensive fullback, he is bigger and a better tackler, what I've noticed about Kyle is that even if he gets caught out his pace and work ethic allow him to make up for it and often catch the player that makes the break and clear it. He is definitely maturing, at 20 years of age he has a significant amount of improvement in him.

he wants to stay but he'd have to drop his wage demands considerably, he's on about 170K but thats really only because of Citeh paying overs for everyone

there was a press release yesterday with him quoted as saying he hopes his agent and Levy can work something out

he's probably worth about 100K a week to be realistic but we dont pay anyone anywhere near that much money in wages

from Spurs Community the verdict is actually Walker by a unanimous margin, but from sprint training pre season its actually none of those 3

surprise surprise, its actually Kaboom

Woah.
On Kaboom, gee hasn't he been a great partner for King. He's really developing into a quality centre-back, he loves the club and works very hard.
He's still shaky sometimes but he has improved so much this season. Of course, when you play alongside Ledley King you expect that!

I guess being a centre back you dont get to show off your pace like the flankers
