Robinson sidelined with calf strain

From correspondents in London
October 19, 2007

ENGLAND goalkeeper Paul Robinson will miss Tottenham Hotspur's Barclays Premier League match against Newcastle United on Tuesday morning (AEST) after sustaining a calf strain.

Robinson sustained the injury during England's Euro 2008 qualifying defeat in Russia yesterday, and Spurs boss Martin Jol admitted he would not recover in time for his club's trip to St James' Park.

"Paul was assessed ... and it showed that he had picked up a calf strain while on England duty that will prevent him playing for us," Jol said.

Robinson, 28, has been in poor form for club and country this season, and he has been criticised for his role in Russia's winner in Moscow.

how bad does a guy have to play before he gets dropped, this could be a blessing in disguise

Cracks opens the Champagne, Cerny has a big opportunity now to keep him outa the team though doubt it goin on quotes on his love for Robbo

But they are without Anelka...so a sort-of win for us. But it's a danger game! Boys better not take it easy...

We'll be right. Our new striker signing (who was half the price of Bent just quietly) will get the job done.

Berbatov looked real happy to be there.
Maybe he should team up with his other Bulgarian mates, Petrov and Bojinov.

Do you take cash?

he's already said he will not leave this year, if Jol leaves he could end up staying past this year

I guess at some stage Bent had to be given a full game and this was it , but he didn't look very confident attacking the ball
