LOL @ Spurs
Don't jinx us ok. You gave them sh*t all last season through there rough patch and then they hit some form. STOP NOW!
You'll be keeping Berbatov now I assume?Zenit St Petersburg have ruled out selling striker Andrei Arshavin to Tottenham before the transfer window closes.
Spurs have been tracking the 27-year-old playmaker since he starred for Russia at Euro 2008.
However, the two clubs have not been able to agree a fee with Spurs refusing to match Zenit's adjusted valuation of £19.7million.
Zenit gave Tottenham until Monday of this week to meet their demands and have now announced there is no chance of a deal going through.
The Uefa Cup winners stated on their official website: "The uncertainty of the situation does not make it possible for the club to seek out a replacement for Andrei.
"Zenit consider the question of the transfer of the player to Tottenham closed."
Tottenham will now have to turn their attentions elsewhere, with Arshavin's compatriot Roman Pavlyuchenko understood to be one target.
A number of other clubs have also been interested in Arshavin this summer but it now seems as though he will be staying with Zenit.
Barcelona were put off by Zenit's demands, while the player's agent Dennis Lachter claimed on Wednesday that Arshavin could have joined Arsenal if he had not demanded too much money.

really not sure
I just read an article reporting the opposite about Arshavin, the deal is still on
he's not a replacement for Berbs, he's an attacking mid rather than a striker, we are looking at 3 other replacements, Spanish, Italian and Sth American, don't know their names
not much time left
whens the transfer window close?
Pavlyuchenko has supposedly said he is not interested in a move to Tottenham.
