Tbh it's kind of cool how the whole Darren Bent thing has played out.

He's now experiencing his best form in the EPL while Spurs have started the season pretty well.

Worked well for both parties, at least thus far.

most spurs fans are happy for him

he is too much like Defoe and they fight over the box when they both started, where as Keane plays an assistant role or attacking mid role and seems to work well with Defoe

it was a choice of Defoe or Bent and it was a no brainer

good luck to him and Sunderland who are doing extremely well atm

Tough guy: Tottenham target Sandro (right) battles with Brazil team-mate Ramirez in training

Tottenham are poised to complete a deal for £14million Brazil star Sandro in the New Year.

The Internacional midfielder has long been linked with a move to White Hart Lane but found his path to the Premier League blocked by work permit regulations.

But after being named in the national squad by Brazil boss Dunga for the recent World Cup qualifiers, Sandro's case for a move to England has strengthened.

Sandro, 20, burst onto the scene while captaining the Brazil Under 20 team and has also been linked with both Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy recently wrapped up a deal with the South American club to have first option on the next generation of Brazilian superstars.

The likes of AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato and Inter Milan defender Lucio both started their careers with Internacional before making the move to Europe.

Sandro's deal hinges on Tottenham paying a group of club investors who own 30 per cent of the player's registration. But Spurs are confident of sealing a move for Sandro with boss Harry Redknapp keen to add some more steel to his midfield in January.

should be a great partner for Palacios, we've only needed a DM for about the last 5 years

midfield choices will now be Lennon, Palacios, Krancjar, Modric, Sandro, Jenas and Hudlestone

I dare say either JJ or Hudd will be off in January

agreed

This is why we are not a top 4 team and without Defoe we have very little strike power.

We totally dominated the game and possession, just couldn't score and relying on the beanpole was never gonna get us home.

Looks like Lennon may have a serious injury too.

Dominant display from Spurs, but jeez Wigan gifted them some goals via their woeful defense.

Defoe with 5.

not a bad effort from the boys, still cant believe it, 9-1 is a club record and second highest win ever in the EPL

5 goals from Defoe and everything we did in the second half turned to gold, even Bentley got into the act

back up to equal third

Even more impressive because Wigan's only goal came after a blatant handball allowed Scharner to control the ball, before slotting it in. Was a very Henry-esque effort.

We've matched the mancs record of scoring 9 in a match. Brilliant stuff, never seen this before as a Spurs fan. We're proving the doubters wrong.

Brilliant. Its rare that we see such dominance actually converted on the scoresheet. Was very worried at only 1-0 at halftime that we could end up conceding one of those arsey counter attack goals and draw 1-1. Perhaps that was what was on Harry's mind when he gave them an absolute pasting by all reports. What a half of football.

Funniest goal of the lot was Nico Kranjcar simply walking into the penalty area without a Wigan shirt within ten yards of him.
