I tend to agree.

I think the only reason we are 4th is that the other teams like Citeh, Villa and Scousers suck more than we do.

I actually think the quality of sides in the premier league has dropped off this year. Of the usual top 4 teams, really only Chelsea who look as strong as last year. Possibly the arse as well.

And down the bottom of the table, there's some real rubbish.

Very disappointing result. I could whinge about Crouch being manhandled in the box and possibly deserving of a penalty on at least 1-2 occasions and I disagree that Defoe's no-goal was the right call, but at the end of the day we totally lacked drive from the midfield and really created very few legitimate chances.

My fear is that we are wholly dependent on Aaron Lennon's pace. He makes our strikers look good and the rest of the midfield starts to work. He gives us width and speed and with him injured, we look very flat indeed. We've been humbled in 4 out of the 5 games against the Big 4 this season and with the exception of the opening day against Liverpool, have not scored a goal or looked like winning at all.

I think the reality is that we are a genuine top 6 side that is lacking the creative CM alongside Palacios as well as a bit more depth in central defense in order to potentially progress into the Top 4. Unfortunately Man City will be the ones to take advantage of Liverpool's season of discontent, or ironically Liverpool themselves might be the ones to do it!!

That. It's only a matter of time before a club comes after him with suitcases full of cash

Ridiculous. The thought that we could lose to Wolves twice and Stoke at home yet still have 4th spot in our hands is crazy. Just goes to show that 4th spot is truly there for the taking and noone seems able to lay claim. It really will go down to the wire, but i fear that our 4 matches against Man Red and Man Blue as well as Chelsea and Arsenal are going to make life very difficult.

The crazy part is that while us Spurs fans keep whingeing about the travesty of dropping those games and a handful of draws in games we should have won, all 3 of our 4th place rivals can say exactly the same thing.

City obviously have the game in hand so sit in the box seat, but they keep dropping points to all ends of the table. Villa have what looks to be the best draw but also will be focussed on the Carling Cup final and are still alive in the FA Cup and don't look to have much depth. I feel as though Liverpool are the most likely, only because they are Liverpool and they'll find a way to salvage a poor season. Also the FA will also find a way in conspiring to ensure that the Big 4 stay the Big 4...

No complaints with that match. Dominated from the outset and never looked in danger. The 2 own goals might look like a blot on the scoreboard but both were scored due to genuine pressure from first Defoe and then Pav that would likely have seen those players netting them if the keeper and defender hadn't gotten there first anyway. Also Gudjohnson's no-goal could easily have been given, so a completely just result. Its great seeing Pav starting and scoring. I think we've found our new route to goal if Defoe dries up. Sorry Crouchy - nice plan B option, but should be in after Pav now i reckon.

yeh, I thought Gudjohnsons goal looked OK.

Pav is doing well with 4 goals in 2 games, but Bolton's defence really was sh*t, not alot of pressure put on him, lets see if he can do it in the Premier League.

I'd still rather Pav than 3 metre Peter.

Would much rather be playing Bolton, but ah well. Fulham have only really had 1 good cup run in the 10 years I've supported them, when they lost to Chelsea in a semi at Stamford Bridge. Would love to see us in another semi.

Good win over Everton but at a huge cost, Huddlestone stretchered off.

He joins other midfielders like Jenas, Lennon, and Bentley on the long term injured list, and Palacios is on 9 yellows.

Its gonna be a huge test of our depth between here and the end of the season.

we got a pretty tough run home and alot of injured key players, I'm surprised we are still there

I dont see us getting through the tough games without Lennon, Huddlestone, Jenas, Bentley, King or Woodgate.

just too many good players for mine, but we can still hope
