What a game. What a finish to the season. We seriously deserved this position after an unbelievable last month and 3rd is a real chance too. How good would that be?!

Very pleased for Crouchy too. He's been ordinary at various points this season, but always puts in a great effort, not only up front but down back defending set plays, and I reckon he's copped it too hard from the fans.

It would be oh so Tottenham if we go out in the qualifying stage a la Everton a few seasons ago, but that's a stress for another day. Wearing my Spurs shirt to work today i reckon...

Great result for us. Especially because it should ensure that some stars that were being courted by other clubs (Bale, Lennon etc) can stay with us because they won't need to use the old excuse that they want to play in the Champions League. Will be interesting to see how many or who we sign in the off-season, we have a great squad now but maybe we could snare someone like Joe Cole.

Feeling very nervous about that qualifying game.... but yes that's for another day.

I still don't think this squad is good enough to make it out of the group stage unless you get drawn in a weaker group. You need to spend 30 or 40 million pounds minimum if you wanna make a good fist of it.

the squad was good enough to beat City, and Chelski and Arsenal just prior, and they do OK in the CL

I just can't see players like Crouch, Huddlestone and Palacios being great in the CL. I could be wrong, but I reckon you are definitely lacking some attacking players.

Crouch no

Hudd and Palacous I think are up to it, Hudd is still a kid (21 I think) he'll get better

I just read we are strengthening our midfield next season and we are looking for a marquee striker around 30 mill.

Harry said we weren't gonna spend much but Levy has given him permission to spend about 50-60 mill, now that we've qualified.

I've yet to see Sandro play, he's a big DM who has some huge wraps on him, harry's been after him for about 18 months but had immigration issues

according to the London Mail we've made an 18mill bid for Louis Fabiano, but Seville want 20mill

at 29 he wont have much sell on value and only plays half a season for Seville as he's injury prone, doesn't sound like a Daniel Levy investment to me

Harry has made it known he is after a marquis player, I hope he aims a bit higher than Fabiano

TOTTENHAM TO DODGE EUROPEAN HEAVYWEIGHTS WITH SEEDING FOR CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

By Christopher Davies
Last updated at 10:10 AM on 11th May 2010

Tottenham are set to be seeded in their Champions League qualifying round which means they will avoid most of Europe's top teams.

The success of English clubs in Europe's premier competition over the past five years has helped Spurs own status. They are likely to miss being paired with Werder Bremen, Sevilla, Ajax, Lyon and Zenit St Petersburg, all of whom look set to secure a qualifying round spot.

Over-joyed: Tottenham are set to be seeded for their Champions League qualifying campaign

While Spurs could meet the team that finishes fourth in Italy - at the moment Sampdoria - their place among the seeded teams will be good news for Harry Redknapp as he plans the club's first assault on the Champions League.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal will again be among the top eight seeds for the group stage draw next season along with Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, AC Milan and Inter Milan.
This means that should Spurs win their qualifying tie they will be paired with one of the five European heavyweights.
