Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp finally gets his man as Sandro deal agreed

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp will sign Brazil midfielder Sandro for £9 million in the next transfer window according to the player’s president at Internacional, Vitorio Piffero.

The defensive midfielder, whom Redknapp has twice before tried to bring to White Hart Lane, is expected to arrive at the club only after he has played for his current side in the Copa Libertadores in August.
“It was a possibility since last year and now it is at the point of materialising,” Piffero said. “We are concluding contracts, but, as they are not signed, we have to wait.”

Sandro is seen as a rising star in Brazilian football, having captained the Under-20s to the South American title at a tournament in Venezuela last year.
Only recently tuned 21, he has one full cap when he came on as a substitute against Chile in a World Cup qualifier last year.
Because of his relatively low experience at international level, however, Tottenham would need special dispensation from the Premier League to apply for a work permit, though they are confident that can easily be secured.
Meanwhile, current Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone yesterday signed a new contract that will keep him at White Hart Lane until 2015.

our injury list just gets worse

out of the Sunderland game now is Dawson and no real centre halves to replace him, Corluka can play centre half, but now he is out injured as well and so is Ledley King who was expected to return

Huddlestone is also out (again) after playing the last 10 minutes last week. Jenas still out and to top that off Palacios is now also out

Lennon and Woodgate still out with long term injuries, dont know if we've got 11 players left

What an inspirational performance and test of depth for Spurs

Danny Rose........what a goal, not bad for a teenager

Wasn't so long ago Gomes was struggling to hold his spot but if this doesn't catch the Brazillian selector's eye, nothing will.

Congrats Spurs... now please lose to Chelsea. ;-)

BTW, that Danny Rose goal was awesome. He's a good young player - I signed him up for Notts County on FIFA and he was great!
