Dear Daniel,

Please buy us a decent striker.

Not too disappointed after that. We played well, and as you say, it just enforces our need for one really good striker (which could be a good thing).

How good did Bale go

Brilliant, he was MOM by a long way

BAE second best, which probably goes along way to resolving who plays where

Defoe isn't a decent striker?

can be very hot and cold, just not consistent enough for me, only had one decent shot on goal for the whole game

Loved the new jersey. Can't wait to get one - only problem is that it's not available until September 24. That is ages away! Ridiculous. You can get most of the other teams shirts now, it sucks.

Gotta decide who's name to get on it... I was thinking Lennon, but Bale's making a late challenge

Terrible first half but good fight back in the second half from our boys against Young Boys, looks like we had a few problems adjusting to the synthetic pitch in Switzerland.

2 away goals are pretty handy.

should, but haven't yet

you can see the players taking a lot of small steps as they approach the ball, very tentative

never seen Young Boys before, they have some good players, although their first two gaols were fortunate deflections and the first one deflected from an off side player, they controlled the first half well

So happy I didnt get up and watch that...must have been terrible. Pretty much only need a one goal victory, but I'm still not overly confident..

according to all media reports we are in the box seat with 2 away goals, but then again thats the English media

on reflection we got ambushed early, Daws and Bassong were very loose and didn't mark up, worse game they played as a par in a few years

Young Boys first 2 goals were very fortunate but funny how those things dont happen when Ledley plays

I would rest King against Stoke and play him on Beaveneau (sp) in the return leg as this guy is obviously their big attacking weapon and credit to him, he played well.

Once we got used to the conditions we held them pretty well in the second half and Gomes only had one shot to save in the second half.

I think given they will now have to adjust to our conditions and we can hold Beavineau at home we should get through OK, but like others I thought this would be a walk in the park, Young Boys are not a bad team and credit to them for the way they played
