If this graph is accurate then TPAs are not worth the controversy they generate.
Melbourne as you'd imagine getting every leg up from the NRL possible. These figures wouldn't count the briefcase of money JT and Cam received last year.
What evidence would you require to be convinced the figures are accurate?
Im not sure that's true.
The graph shows that with over 800k of TPA's, the Broncos and Melbourne have effectively 8% higher salary cap than other club. Which basically means they are getting an ELITE player (like one of the highest paid played in the game) for free on other clubs
That seems like a pretty significant advantage to me.
Why would it if it doesn't fall into the 2018 season?Very difficult to believe this data and the validity of TPA’s in general. Does the figure for the Roosters include the promised funds for Cronk’s university education promised to him when he retires?

I'm assuming the NRL neuroscience division will next be releasing brainwave information on players' thought processes during contract negotiations.Lol because that promise of revenue may have influenced his decision to go to the roosters?

Is it not painfully evident that all the Sydney clubs are fighting for TPA's in the same market? (same as sponsorship, how many clubs have Bryden's Lawyers on board for example?).None that can be provided, without knowing what a players salary is and who is getting how much in tpa's its all guess work.
It's just a bit hard to believe that Sydney clubs either can't either get tpa's for their players or don't see an advantage.
Slater and Smith are pretty well known in Melbourne but can they be worth so much more than any Sydney player in Sydney?

Melbourne have an entire city almost the size of Sydney to themselves.
no i dont think so, if you gave parramatta an extra 800k they would of still came last,Here's a list of the 2018 teams, in order of TPA. In the brackets is where they finished in the regular season.
Melbourne (2nd)
Brisbane (6th)
Nth Queensland (13th)
Souths (3rd)
Penrith (5th)
Cronulla (4th)
NZ (8th)
Easts (1st)
Canberra (10th)
Manly (15th)
Newcastle (11th)
Wests Tigers (9th)
St George/Ill (7th)
Gold Coast (14th)
Canterbury (12th)
Parramatta (16th)
Other than one or two outliers, it's pretty clear that third party deals directly correlates to success. Or vice versa, depending on who you follow.
