Getting into the CL would be great for the spurs.
Might lead to more success in the future.

Will Spurs sign BOTH Veloso and Dos Santos...unless you have intentions of playing Modric on the left or right then I don't imagine you would sign all 3 midfield players, unless Ramos chooses to play with 3 central midfeilders? Or more likely, two attacking pne defending midfielder...

Who knows...only time will well.

I thought we did sign that Ghanain kid or didn't get we get him yet? Sur

But i got a feelin if they can sign a few of the players they targeting....dnt worry about a euro spot but i could c them pushing towards a Auto champs League spot or even the title if they can gel

And how is that not giving the league abit of a shake, the top 4 is almost inevitable, so another team displacing a regular would be huge.
Inevitable? You make it sound easy. Tottenham finished the small matter of 30 points outside the top 4 last year so they have ALOT of improving to do.

Sure they have brought in a few talented players but it isnt that easy. I mean look at Barca, probably the most talented roster in the world but they could only finish 10 points adrift of 2nd place Villareal.

It isnt as simple as bringing in quality players and automatically achieving results. I believe Twizzle pointed that out. Fact is it takes a tremendous amount of hard work to get a bunch of new players playing well together as a unit in the space of one off-season.

I'd still place Everton and even Aston Villa above Tottenham at this stage.

Hmmm, surprising move from Hughes IMO. Why would he want to go to a club with such an unstable owner? He could finish 7th (which would be a bloody good result for City) but still get the punt from Thakshin.

Risky move (see Sam Allardyce).

In a way, it somewhat is.. I'm a Liverpool fan and we were terrible this year, but still managed to finish 4th, with Everton there abouts in 5th, but never really pushing us. Season 06/07 8 point difference between 4th and 5th, abit closer the season 05/06 but still the same top 4.

You are 100% correct about bringing in quality players not achieving results asap, but i do believe Spurs have the core of a good team, and with a full off season under Ramos, they should be an extremely different team to that of what we saw last season.

It was pretty evident that they needed some more class in their midfield, especially the flanks and so far the signings they have brought in has addressed that issue (on paper) and with Keane, Berbatov and Bent the strikers, goals wont be a problem.

Another CB would be a good purchase, as both King and Woodgate are class, though so injury prone. Hutton and Bale/Gilberto on as the wingback's are solid aswell.

I might be over estimating Spurs potential, but i do see alot of potential and talent in that squad.

With these signings it is not to much of a large influx of players. The strikers are set, the defence is set (except for maybe a cb), it would only be 2 midfielders imo who would slot straight into the starting line up, as i believe Dos Santos would start the season from the bench.

Not only that Tommy, but these players will need to adjust to the EPL. It's a higher tempo, and a more physical league than what most of the players Spurs have signed are used to.

Someone like Modric for example, great talent, but physically is quite slight. How is he going to go when he plays, say Sunderland and is hacked, kicked and pushed off the ball for 90 minutes?

Interesting:

Arsene Wenger has identified Hamburg's Piotr Trochowski as a target

Classy player, but is pretty tiny. PLays wide. Lots of pace, decent cross.

"Ronaldo alerts agent that he wants to leave ManU"

I wonder if it was Schuster or Calderon who planted this seed? Or maybe it was a slow news day...

Either way we're all sick of it.

Is it that we FULLY haven't agreed terms or that he is laying it out for after EURO? I personally think it's the latter.

Also any hopes of the Toots, Gunners or Manure landing Miguel Veloso have suffered a massive blow, Sporting apparently seeking just under 25 million pounds to let him go.
