Inevitable? You make it sound easy. Tottenham finished the small matter of 30 points outside the top 4 last year so they have ALOT of improving to do.
Sure they have brought in a few talented players but it isnt that easy. I mean look at Barca, probably the most talented roster in the world but they could only finish 10 points adrift of 2nd place Villareal.
It isnt as simple as bringing in quality players and automatically achieving results. I believe Twizzle pointed that out. Fact is it takes a tremendous amount of hard work to get a bunch of new players playing well together as a unit in the space of one off-season.
I'd still place Everton and even Aston Villa above Tottenham at this stage.
In a way, it somewhat is.. I'm a Liverpool fan and we were terrible this year, but still managed to finish 4th, with Everton there abouts in 5th, but never really pushing us. Season 06/07 8 point difference between 4th and 5th, abit closer the season 05/06 but still the same top 4.
You are 100% correct about bringing in quality players not achieving results asap, but i do believe Spurs have the core of a good team, and with a full off season under Ramos, they should be an extremely different team to that of what we saw last season.
It was pretty evident that they needed some more class in their midfield, especially the flanks and so far the signings they have brought in has addressed that issue (on paper) and with Keane, Berbatov and Bent the strikers, goals wont be a problem.
Another CB would be a good purchase, as both King and Woodgate are class, though so injury prone. Hutton and Bale/Gilberto on as the wingback's are solid aswell.
I might be over estimating Spurs potential, but i do see alot of potential and talent in that squad.
With these signings it is not to much of a large influx of players. The strikers are set, the defence is set (except for maybe a cb), it would only be 2 midfielders imo who would slot straight into the starting line up, as i believe Dos Santos would start the season from the bench.
