Arsenal have rejected a transfer request from defender Kolo Toure.







The Ivory Coast centre-back has failed to secure a regular first-team spot this season and Manchester City are thought to be considering a bid for his services.
Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood is aware the £10 million-rated stopper has indicated he is keen to leave, but insists the Gunners are not looking to sell.
"I know about it [the transfer request]," Hill-Wood said in the Daily Star. "But we are not going to accept it.
"We are not looking to let any of our players go and he is under contract - and we expect him to honour it."

Him snubbing Real Madrid is true. He wants to move to a team where he'll actually be a first team choice and play football, which he knows he's not good enough to be at Real. In other words, he's not happy to do a Wayne Bridge and sit on the sidelines collecting his wages. And good on him I say.

Let's be honest, we all know there's no way Pennant would come anywhere near the Real first team unless they had an injury crisis. I think it's refreshing to see a player put happiness and first team opportunities over money.

it's just odd that a player who isn't in the top tier of calibre is snubbing madrid and getting money for nothing ... this is probably that one time out of hundred where it would happen

but yeah you're right it is refreshing a player puts his career before taking the easy option so i hope he does well in the future
