Transfer Rumours

I'm surprised that Martinez would be attracted by Milan. Surely there's better teams out there in Europe with UCL who want him?

€22 according to Milan sources, so about 18 mill

James Pearce said 16mil, I would back him, he has nailed every single Liverpool transfer this window.
He is spoon fed his info by BR.

Borini will be sold for 14mil now, so essentially, we paid 2 mil for Balo, brilliant business.

That's a great move by Milan. Move on an under performing player and pick up Cha Cha Cha. He's been killing it with Porto.

Yeah it's a solid swap for Milan. Tho Mario for all his faults wasnt exactly under performing for Milan. Think he bagged 28 goals in about 50 odd games while at AC.

JM has been scoring for fun at Porto tho.

Not that it's a negative but he scored a few Pens last year compared to open play.

This could either be a magnificent signing for you guys, or it could blow up in your faces, but thats the same for most signings I suppose. He's gonna play up top, and it'd be funny to see Sturridge shunted out wide again... Cause if you don't play one of the two out wide, then you could end up with a logjam.

It took Liverpool a while to work both Sturridge and Suarez into a functional formation, but it required two very mobile strikers.

I reckon Balotelli could be the one playing out wide. He seems more versatile than Sturridge IMO

Fair enough and you're probably right with Mario being the one to shift.

Do you think Rodgers sanctioned this or a committee within the club? He did rule it out a few weeks ago.

I have a feeling it's a committee transfer (approved by Rodgers though), but that's just my opinion. All committee transfers have to be ticked off by BR anyway, so it's not like he doesn't want him. I do know however that Rodgers really wants Falcao; a player that he personally picked, and he has been working behind the scenes 24/7 to convince him to come on a loan deal. Tony Barrett, a respected journalist at The Times (formerly Liverpool Echo) with really strong links to the club, even stated this last night after I found out myself. Whether BR can pull it off is another story, but the interest is definitely there...

It seems that should be the end of the Liverpool Cavani rumours. Either PSG keep him, or Arsenal get close only for Chelsea to come in and hijack

Pirlo did say that anyone who thinks Balo is still up to his immature ways is living in the past. Pirlo is God, God is always right, therefore, Balo is a top signing.

Everyone will take Cavani and Falcao though tbh.

He ruled it out because Milan wanted 40m at the time according to Today's UK Telegraph.

But they since realised they wouldn't get that much so they slashed his price. That coupled with the realisation that Falcao is going to Madrid and Bony's staying put rekindled BR's interest in Super Mario.

Yeah I know, but it's just interesting that Rodgers wants Falcao in addition to Balotelli. He's moving heaven and earth to sign him. Hopefully Di Maria stays at Madrid until at least January...

Fair enough then. I don't blame him. I haven't really followed the situation too closely but 40 million is ludicrous.

He's on something like 450k euro a week tax free at monaco, thats why I find it hard to see anyone besides Madrid taking him on.

I'm certainly not holding my breath for Falcao. Apparently Perez said that he does not plan on anymore transfer inflows, but I find that complete BS.

Falcao has apparently told everyone that he doesn't want too move to the EPL. He's made is very clear he wants Madrid. The cost of a one season loan would be near £20m anyway due to wages and the fee Mknaco want.
