We are apparently crazy thorough with our medicals Sam. It's why ours take a bit longer than most clubs as well. Not good for the bloke if its something that could affect his playing future.

Be interesting to see who the new target is. Origi deal is about to be announced as well but we all know he 'll more than likely go back to Lille on loan.

Bony would be good but it's gonna take a £20 million plus to get get him. Swansea have said they will sell if someone comes in with a bid double what they paid. Thought he was strong for Swansea last year as well. Troubled us at Anfield if I remember correctly

Spewing about Remy, he would have been an astute buy.

Glad our guys picked out the issue though for his general health, guy probably bad no idea he even had a problem. Hopefully he can still continue to play somewhere.

Loren has just been officially unveiled, no doubt they rushed it through to offset the Remy collapse.

Apparently his heart condition is common knowledge. Marseille certainly knew about it when they signed him from Nice all those years ago.

So there's something odd going on, particularly when personal terms etc. were agreed to beforehand. Could be linked to Borini being a stubborn turd and refusing to free up 14m, hence us pulling the pin and using a 'crook ticker' for an excuse.

No, apparently they weren't sure whether to go through with it or not, and had to get a second independent opinion on Remy's health.

During Rémy's press conference, Marseille president Jean-Claude Dassier revealed that, during the player's medical, tests revealed that Rémy suffered from a possible heart defect. Rémy missed the team's league match against Lorient on 21 August and further tests were conducted on 23 August to determine whether the defect could be career-threatening. On 24 August, Rémy was declared fit to practice and play the sport of football at a high level by Marseille doctors and heart specialists consulted by the club.

I tell you, Arsenal will not give a shit about his heart condition - after all, they signed Kallstrom with a broken leg.

Something's very amiss on the part of our management to use this as an excuse. And I have a feeling it relates to Borini.

Sam, there's a difference between signing someone with a broken leg, and signing someone with a heart defect. Medicals are all about detecting more serious, underlying issues than just a broken leg.

I doubt it's related to Borini, it's not a matter of 'He only comes if Borini goes'. They clearly don't think Borini is good enough, so why would they let him just scupper a move for a first team starter?

And if Arsenal don't want to give a shit, then that's their choice, but it seems that Liverpool don't want a player possibly dropping dead on the field.

My point is that if Marseille, Newcastle, and QPR all (supposedly) have such a lax attitude to a player with a heart defect, Arsenal too will have an equally lax attitude. Why we're so comparatively stringent is bizarre which is why I'm now fearing it actually is a matter of 'he only comes if Borini goes' as you put it.

You could equally say it's bizarre that marseille, qpr and newy have a lax attitude, considering that Liverpool AND Chelsea have given his medicals a big F. I don't think it has anything to do with Borini, I believe he still would have signed a deal if he a) passed the medical and b) Borini stayed for the time being.

Medicals may be more to do with the insurance underwriter, its ultimately up to them to extend the cover to a player.

Rumour from the Italian press: Man U about to drop £47m on Vidal. Would be hilarious if it happens.

Why? The fact is they've brought in a world class player while we haven't. 47 million is nothing to them, they don't care. Once we bring in an equal calibre player for less than that, then we can start laughing

Why is that funny? He is a top 3 CM in the world. To some people he is the top midfielder in the world. Money well spent if it happens. Though I think it won't happen.
