Dating Sally has clearly gone to his head if he thinks he's worth that much.
Cut him loose guys.

Disappointing. If they lose him, after losing Morris, then there will be riots.

I would hate to lose him for another $100K per season. I agree he is probably worth $600K a year, but do we really want to lose him for $700K a year.?????

If what his manager is claiming truly reflects Trent Merrin's attitude then I would be more than happy to see him released right now. He's yet to even play a Test and is barely a bench player for the NSW origin side, yet thinks he should be paid as one of the best forwards in the competition.

Seeya Trent - thanks for the memories, of which there are few and far between.

see you later Merrin if this is true. I would not offer him more than the 1.8 million.

That's the key point - we don't know what the Dragons offered. The $1.8 million over 3 years was the deal mentioned in the media.

Mulholland is on the record saying it's the biggest deal ever offered to a Dragons forward. So Merrin's attitude suggests that he thinks he's been more valuable to the club than the likes of Jeremy Smith, Michael Weyman, Neville Costigan, Luke Bailey, Shawn Timmins etc.

He's a good player but if you add up the minutes he played in the Grand Final and all his State of Origins it would barely equal a half of football. He is WAY to big for his boots.

The Leader quoted Merrin’s manager, Wayne Beavis, who reportedly told the Dragons their offer was too low.
“We will be talking with other clubs now. There are plenty of them interested,” Beavis is quoted.
“We won’t be chasing them (the Dragons), that’s for sure.
“The offer they made is not in the spirit of the negotiations.”

So Merrin will be joining Taumalolo, Foran and Folau at the Roosters in 2016?

I'm amazed that people still believe the "so and so is linked to the Roosters line" that agents use for every star player.

I know, like $BW, Ferguson, Maloney, Jennings.
When will people wake up Tommy?
When?

For mine Mullholland's public airing doesn't bode well. We never air our dirty laundry in public. This smacks of getting on the front foot so that any loss is viewed in context.

I'd offer Taumololo the $700k,not Trent.

Interesting point and a valid one.The other way to look at it is the club also realises the dilemma they have got us into and by reconnecting with the fans to clear the air on some concerns.
It is a unique period for the club.

Or maybe they've had enough of merrin piss farting around?

600k a year is more than he is worth.

If he doesn't like it, he can do his little tap dance out the friggin exit door.

What was he supposed to do given Merrin's position? Just let his manager come out and say the offer wasn't good enough so we're going else where, and then let us fans speculate as to what the issue was, sorta like with the Morris saga?
