We are flat track bullies. Didnt veat a team that finished above 5th. But racked up some good scores against shit sides.

Natural talent wins easy games. A good coach will make the most of that talent and be able to win the tough games.

I dont think our halves mean shit without a decent game plan and attacking structure. Our attack didnt change too much from TMM, Cartwright, Moylan or May at 6. All that changed was those players moments of individual brilliance.

Even Cleary didnt play too differently depending on his 6. It was the quality of our opposition that changed most.

Our coach needs to work to pur players strengths. Try to hide their weaknesses and not blame the players for his game plans and attacking structure not being good enough.

We have a roster capable of the top 4. We just dont have a coach that can get them there

A story was in the paper before this year. Edwards and May had less then 10 losses combined in a Panthers jersey. They hadn't been tested before and as such when can't use their skills to score points have no idea.

This is the case with many young teams. When it clicks will be a great team whether Gus and Hook are still here when it happens is the question

Are you saying that Walsh and Burns weren't experienced NRL players? MX argued Cleary had lots of spine changes. I countered by saying no he didn't and he also didn't have mainly rookies. If you can find the sentence where I said "Burns and Walsh were brilliant" then please quote me and highlight it in bold. I will then apologise profusely.

According to the Oxford dictionary the word hardened means and I quote "Very experienced in a particular job or activity and therefore not easily upset by its more unpleasant aspects". You will note that it doesn't mean that somebody is brilliant. According to the Oxford dictionary the word brilliant means and I quote "Exceptionally clever or talented". I don't think the words "brilliant" and "Burns" and "Walsh" have ever been used by me in a sentence (or anyone else for that matter, except their Mum's), except when I was told they were leaving. In that case I even paired it with the word "f*#king", which really means brilliant on a scale of 11 out of 10.

Sure Wallace is experienced, but he has got old and slow which was why Hook moved him to Hooker. But when all is said and done, the players doing the creative stuff, were rookies. Time will tell if Cleary, TMM and May have better careers than Walsh and Burns. I hope they do. BTW Burns and Walsh have both managed to play over 200 games each between the NRL and Super League. In Burns case, that is quite exceptional since he spent lengthy spells on the sideline for fighting, head high tackles and generally being a mad bastard.

Luke Walsh had played like 20 odd more NRL games than Moylan when they both left us and Burns only played a couple more than that lol what are you even on about??? IF Walsh is hardened then so is Bryce Cartwright, what a joke.

FTR I didn't even say they weren't hardened, I said they were shit and implied the fact they were vets doesn't mean anything if they aren't up to it. God you waffle on.

Long time lurker. First time poster. As my name suggests I am perhaps a 'fan lady' of most things re my footy team, (don't knock it,, it saves on therapy for anger management issues). Me I have great hope for season 2018. I think with Maloney arriving the premiership window via Uncle Gus has been forced open.

On Griffin, I'm kinda neutral. His results have been OK without being brillianr. He does need help regarding attack. The team's defence and ability to stay in the game has gone through the roof. TBH this did start when Ivan was here.
My thoughts on Ivan I think he was beginning to tread water, his words after 'that' match late in 2015 to me was a concern. I also like many of you heard that the team doctor and medical staffs were not happy with his and Ronnie Palmers injury management. Funnily after Ivan moved on it improved a little, then when Ronnie finally moved on it improved heaps. In my mind both Ivan and Anthony have good aspects of their coaching, and areas that need work.

So we aren't being coached well?

of course you would say that haha. How did the Tigers go with Brooks, Moses, Teddy etc all in the team together?

The fact is we have the youngest halfback in comp even still next year. Only Ponga is younger than Edwards. If it was just coaching then why does other teams not go the younger half route?

Also throw in it usually takes a coach 2 years to fix up the squad to their liking. Every player there should be able to be used properly by the coach. Looking at the 30 man squad on the website we are lacking depth so there isn't options if we have the wrong guys

That was my issue with Ivan too. Things like put Brown in centres when we have lower grades carving up. Soward, DWZ and Mansour injuries handled poorly. 2015 is a different story if while 2-0 Soward didn't need an op which should of been done pre season

So would I but if we are going to be a development club we might as well commit to the concept and do it well.

Luai
Egan
Jed
Waddell
Hetherington
Ellis
Lui-Toso

All with no FG experience. Luai looks like our backup halfback too but I guess it is what we want but doesn't help us get battle hardened
