Bryce is in the squad for the NZ trial, given he's just posted on Facebook that he's heading there this morning.

Based on this:
Josh Mansour is definitely out for Round 1
Jamal Idris is odds on out for Round 1
Dallin Watene-Zelezniak is probably 50/50 at this stage, but Cleary doesn't even mention him as a possibility at missing round 1

Everyone else should be fit unless injured between now and round 1.

Read the article in the Docker to prop. He says he's not running yet so he'd be out round 1 also

With injuries (Mansour, Idris, DWZ, Soward and probably others) and All Stars (Moylan and Peachey), I'd like to see us go with our strongest possible line-up from who is available as we're missing some big names already.

Let us see how the likes of George Jennings, Waqa Blake, Robert Jennings, Keiran Moss etc. look against a reasonably strong Warriors side with us naming the strongest side we can around them. It wouldn't really be fair to judge their readiness if we put them in a team with NSW Cup and NYC players and they then got completely dominated by a much stronger side.

Considering we are likely to be missing 3/5ths of our backline in Round 1, the trials for the guys likely to fill in are super important. Would be nice to know that we can put a line through Blake or Jennings name before Round 1 if they weren't up to scratch in the trial, or better yet to know they are up to the job by having them carve up as we know they have the potential to do and go into round 1 with confidence in these young blokes. Otherwise it's probably all but certain that Yeo and Simmons will get 2 of those 3 spots, and only one of Blake or Jennings will get a run.

Given who missed last week's NSW Cup and the unavailable. I'd say this backline for this week

Moss
Simmons
Blake
Jennings
Jennings
Soward
John

Cleary said last week he was playing this week. Though either way you'd think even Whare, McKendry and co that aren't playing this week would still go and do autographs etc

That would make sense...1st time ever for the DT! We sent a 2nd tier to the 9's and a NSW Cup trial last week he wasn't named. assuming he handles the next 2 trials fine no reason that won't happen

Exciting times if so. I would expect him to be a bit in and out of the FG side like Dallin and Bryce last year but hopefully claim a regular starting spot towards the end of the season.

Getting keen for the season to start now.

EDIT: This is OT but i dont want to start a thread fo it. Just read on the Panthers facebook we are sending six players to carnivals in areas such as Cowra, Orange abd bathurst over the next two days which will have them see 7500 kids. Im really loving our involvement in the bush recently, awesome stuff by the club.

After the way Barba and Hoffman were treated, the Broncos are the least likely team to get him.

Moylan will move to the halves and DWZ will get the #1 jersey at the club that developed him.

Not sure which one Broncos is referring too but both Moylan and Dallin strike me as kids who will remain loyal to Penrith for a long time. Not saying they will never leave, but imo if they do it will be when they are closer to 30 than 20.

We have Idris still to comeback so the club and Blake have nothing to lose over the 1st few rounds. he can taste FG maybe get a try or 2 then go back. Hopefully like with DWZ once his in he stays in.

I have no doubt that he will ultimately end up in the halves.

I think that with that eventual move,Moylan will flourish and DWZ will get his coveted fullback role.

moylan is miles off going into the halves .I have a better and longer kicking game.Cleary has said he has several areas he needs to work on before they consider moving him there

Are you guys naming a team or is that a game day surprise?

Out of curiosity, if Cleary doesn't see Moylan as being ready for the halves and DWZ is dead set on being a fullback when his contract is up in 2016, what would you guys do?

If it came to that and I doubt it will? I believe Moss is a better fullback then Moylan if he can stay fit. Moylan's talents are far better suited to the halves.
