Scotty Dureau played the first half and it was a master class as we ran up a big lead on the back of his passing and kicking games.
Karawana was great.
Matt White was the best forward.
Matt Cooper was the surprize - he had a fantastic game - he was replaced by Luke McDougall at centre in the second half - and Cooper looked better (Coops went to the opposite wing in the second half and scored.
Young Byron Warren got 3 tries in the first half.
Walsh played in the second half and had some great runs - he has his speed back - and in the best sign for everyone, he dropped a big Islander number 11 on his backside in a one on one tackle a few yards out from the line - got a massive cheer for it and the islander guy was so pissed he gave away a penalty.
Final score was about 30-16.
In the second half all the reserves came on, and they all looked great. I didn't know who half of them were, but they were good.

The lower grades
The NYC side won 26-22. It sounds like a close game, but the Knights went out cold as ice and gave away 18 points in the first 20 minutes, then clicked into gear and scored 26 points while totally dominating before Cronulla gat a try with a minute to go.
The guy who started at hooker had some good moves, but he didn't have any organisational skills, and the side didn't click till Tyne Owen came on and got them organised.
Marty Paulson started at halfback and he looked a bit nippy when running, but he threw maybe 5 or 6 dreadful passes behind guys and broke down attack after attack. Burraston didn't look half as good running with the ball, but he threw good passes and did a few brilliant kicks.
Callan Richardson looked back to 2006 form, and Simon Williams was fabulous but injured himself late in the game. Issacs looks like a bigger, faster version of Williams, but he isn't as strong and doesn't have the same brilliant handling.
Dobbins played strongly for 60 minutes or so and looks bigger and harder. He is becoming a Simmo clone.
Edwards played good minutes and pulled off some bell ringers.
Wyborn is much bigger and could be the big improver.

Any Pictures Roops?

Jared Edwards makes a break.
He looked a class above all the other backs on the field. Not bad for one of the youngest in the side.
He is big, fast, and has great skills.

I didn't catch this kids name, but he has to be that new kid from Tamworth, Angus McHatton, with that look.

A kid who had a run in a few positions wearing number 20. Looked pretty good. He is small, but look at those arms.

From the sounds of things Junior had an awesome game against the sharks scoring a couple of tries and going close a few times. He just may push for a starting spot in the 3/4 line.

Just a thought... when did Dureau come on? If he played of course...

Considering Bailey/Mullen started, just wondering if we started to play better and stage the comeback with Mullen/Dureau ?

f**king no :x
these are two signings that could VERY EASILY bite us on the arse
when we let Sau go the main reaction from fans was "so what, we've still got Leilei"

 unlucky

So now we've got Cross, Sau and this Leilei kid...you must be feeling so conflicted lol. All players you love, playing for a team you absolutely despise.

Just finished watching the game. Was pretty disapoinited in the first half, more so by there basic mistakes, like catching and passing under pressure. They dont quite have there attack together also. Cronulla were a bigger side physically and made our back line look fragile in defence. There big boys run out fairly wide and made good ground, where as our boys run up the middle alot and hit a brick wall. But despite the size difference, our forwards did ok in defence considering. Dunno, got mixed feelings about it, despite the comeback and the win, that back line def wont be anything like the rd 1 back line, Wes and Jim in the centres and lucky dip for the wingers, Proly doogs and Cooper Vuna. Houston stood out for me, and Whitey again, although he dropped a ball in a hit up which, tarnished his efforts. Thats my opinion, anybody else have any thoughts.???
