Best I can tell someone suggested naming Hughes 12th man, you had a go at them, and it blew up from there.

Agreed MU, it is El D's opinion, he hasn't said anything derogatory about Hughes at all. I also thought some of those suggestions were over the top but let them go through to the keeper. El D gave his opinion which is fair enough. It's not like he is having a crack at Hughes or the circumstances of his death.

30 hours on from hearing this tragic news and it still feels surreal. For a young man to be doing what he is so passionate about to be struck down on the playing field and never wake again is truly a tragedy. I truly hope that Sean Abbott gets all the support he needs, and by all reports that is happening. But I hope he continues to get that support for the rest of his days, because I think we would all fear what may happen if that support were to stop.

WTF have you actually been reading?! Diablo is the one who started all of the insults with his eye-rolling! I don't think anyone is claiming that Diablo said anything offensive about Hughes. It's purely about the way he's treated certain opinions regarding how Hughes should be remembered. If he wants to offer an alternative to any particular opinion, okay, whatever. But the absolute merkin way he's gone about it is what's offended people. Eye-rolling well-intentioned suggestions, and labelling them as an act of offensive, ridiculous stupidity- on a memorial thread- is what's obviously offended people, and he has thus hijacked this thread.

It's obvious that he's been typically distasteful in this thread- not towards Hughes directly, but towards others. However, in a way, that is distasteful towards Hughes, because a thread recognising Hughes' passing called for some decorum and patience. That's common sense. It's the reason why the 'When Should We Drop Phil Hughes' thread was locked. It's the reason why you don't stand up at funerals and rebut your aunty's eulogy that claimed that your Uncle Russell was a good bloke.
