Steady on.AG... even though I have blocked you, I can see what you've written as it was quoted. You really are a sour-faced cow. A humble, talented young man whom many people looked up to and enjoyed the company of has passed away in tragic circumstances, and you come into this very thread knowing what to expect, and you speak ill of the dead.
Just when I thought you couldn't sink any lower...
By the way Twatface Magee - I agree with you completely.
AG's sentiments are correct. We cannot go and change everything to do with the game to honour Hughes. It is not insensitive and it is not practical.
A: Hughes would not want that. He was a humble person who just loved playing the game.
B: A remembrance gesture at the start of every summer, along the lines I suggested earlier, will ensure he will always be remembered and he will effectively be responsible for starting the cricket season every summer.
C: Every thing about cricket and what attracted Hughes to it, and many many others past and present, is the traditions of the game. Throwing them out the window destroys a part of what is unique to the soul of the game.
The biggest and best way we can truly honour the life of Hughes is to ensure that we don't forget him.
