I wouldn't bother with anything Dalton says, he's a spoon short of a cutlery set.

Someone would have posted it in the Ratings thread in TFC.

Your an idiot, you don't even know me. But anyway to completely and utterly prove you wrong,

www.barb.co.uk it'll give you detailed ratings for all British TV channels for the last 6 years. People have to pay approx $90 a month for the channels that show Super League. Its not on live national TV. The challenge cup final gets about 1.3m which is on national TV.

On Sky, only the Premier League gets over 1m for games. Super League regularly outrates the equivalent Rugby Union games. The reason Sky pay us something like $25m (£10m) a year is because of the people who specifically get Sky for Rugby League, like myself and pay over $1000 a year for the privelidge.

Very little top sport is on national TV over here. Only international soccer and union, the FA cup and the Champions League. There is no such thing as combined FTA and satellite deals like you guys get.

You sure..? I wouldn't think it would be that low.. Otherwise I don't see how a competition that only gets 350k viewers for the grandfinal could have a combined salary cap of about 20 million pounds?

The huge population.

The UK viewing figures are small. The only history of it is a few years back it made the top 10 on Sky Sports 3 so we can see the figure and it was 33,000.

Since then it has moved to Setanta and much fewer people actually have this. I'd be suprised if it was 20,000 to be honest. Its on at an OK time, like 10.30am but you have to be a leaguie to know about it. I'd say 95% of those figures will be die hard league fans though, its not on the sort of channel where people would just have it on in the background. If it was shown primetime Sky Sports 1 it would do OK , because there is an interest over here. Its seen as the pinnacle of RL. Bear in mind that the Super league Grand Final is only watched by 350,000 or so.
So where does super league get the money to buy our talent?
From the huge population? What do they do...make donations?

So, instead of just showing me proof that the Super League Grand Final rated 350,000 in the UK last year, you waffled on with that?

That is the point isn't it?

I know all that.

Pity.

Good question seeing as their TV contract is worth $130 mill compared to ours at $500mill

They get approx $1.7mill per club central grant which is significantly less than ours. They also get crowds half the size. Love to know why NRL clubs can't afford to keep players.

I'd rather run a marathon with a razor blade stuck in my ass crack than see your gloating piece of sh*t club make a grand final.

And as long as Souths think they own Rugby League, that will be my opinion.

the nrl should relocate souths to the central coast in a merge with norths and the central coast with the new team known as Norths Central Coast Rabbitohs.

souths forget that they actually lost the case for re-admittance in THE appeal to the high court by the NRL. The court ruled as was the case in wayde v nswrl that basically the NRL had the right to admit/exclude which ever teams they wanted to.

Sky Sports 1 Individuals 4+ Viewing (Including Timeshift) - w/e 15/10/2006 Programme000's
1 INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL LIVE (Wed 1730) 2030
2 LIVE FORD FOOTBALL SPECIAL-MATCH (Sat 1200) 897
3 FORD SUPER SUNDAY (Sun 1530) 887
4 INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL LIVE (Wed 1954) 591
5 GILLETTE SOCCER SATURDAY (Sat 1500) 571
6 INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL LIVE (Tue 1900) 482
7LIVE SUPER LEAGUE (Sat 1730) 349
8 SOCCER AM (Sat 0900) 307
9 SUPER SUNDAY - THE LAST WORD (Sun 1830) 285
10 LIVE FOOTBALL LEAGUE (Sun 1300)

The exchange rate is better over here. Our squads are probably smaller and at the lower end worse paid. Bradford for example have a turnover of $12m so there is room for some big names and lets face it they are more effective for Super League.

The ratings thread is enough I think Mr. F.

Besides, any AFL troll stupid enough to poke his head in will be reminded of it..... lol

They've disappeared at the moment.
