A shitload of more money invested into grassfooty will do more for rugby league than anything hd or live games could dream of. If you were a true rugby league fan instead of sounding like a selfish and whinging television viewer, you would be celebrating the massive future rugby league has ahead of it. I know I am
El diablo supporting this = epic lol
Go get another handie off John grant you tosser
Given the AFL scored $1.118b in cash with up to $153m of that being for online rights, a quick bit of arithmetic.
AFL - $965m cash for 9 games a week = $107.2m per game
NRL - $925m cash for 8 games a week = $115.6m per game
AFL - $965m cash for 990 games (5 seasons x 198 games) = $975k per game
NRL - $925m cash for 960 games (5 seasons x 192 games) = $964k per game
AFL - $965m cash for 990 games x 3 hours = $325k per television hour
NRL - $925m cash for 960 games x 2 hours = $482k per television hour
Of course none of that includes Origin or Four Nations (finals pretty much cancel each other out). So pull the NRL figures back say 10%. Still not too bad. And we haven't yet sold the NZ rights.

Does the NRL get to choose which teams play on Friday as long as one NSW and one QLD are playing?
No.

Also doesn't include the NAB Cup (AFL pre-season) or the international rules (bahaha).
Sick the of the dick measuring going on though. Was an excellent result in terms of $'s. Much more than anyone would have expected pre-AFL deal. Yes, the FTA coverage isn't as good as everone had hoped, but if they invest the money wisely in the game, the game looks healthy in the logn run. I just hope the players don't get too greedy in what they are asking for in terms of increases to the salary cap (not that they don't deserve some sort of top up).
