Two refs is working well

All the variations it has introduced.

It's like two games in one.

Watch the end of the Souths / Parra game for a good example.

Unfortunately it puts inexperienced referees in important situations and they just can't handle it. Souths were lucky to get the draw but were denied a fair chance of winning the game.

f**king disgraceful.

That arrogant Suttor plonker just ran his own race out there.

You could see his mate Badger in the background wasn't too impressed.

Every single ref started out in first grade with no experience.

Having a more established referee out on the field with them can only improve the overall quality.

that and the one against Parra were both absolute crap. Both teams rorted a final opportunity to seize the game but unfortunately for Souths they were in a lot better position to do so so they will feel harder done by.

Agreed it's debatable whether the 2 Ref system is to blame for the end of the Souths V Eels match, but what is certain is the experience and standard of the refs has dropped as a result of its introduction, due to noob refs being in control.

What a schoolboy error by Suttor!

He wasn't even watching that the ball was not in Craig Wing's hands but meters behind the eel's defence.

Definately a poor decision at the end of both periods of extra time. Once the forwards have packed in the scrum, the ball must be fed, irregardless of when the siren goes... The scrum has 'packed' before the siren sounds...

I feel he knew he made the error in the first period of extra time, and then he probably felt obliged to do it in the second half... Can you imagine the Parra fans if he allowed it and Souths won? They would be spewing...

It was sh*t, but at least it was balanced sh*tness, rofl...

Either way, see ya in NSW up next week.

Mate you only have to look at Bill Harrigan and Steve Clarke who are supposed to be the best officials from the modern game to realise these "experienced" refs ain't much chop either.

Yeah, but why was the inexperienced ref in charge then? Better to give the inexperienced ref more time in blow out games, or games that look to be decided, but as it as it gets close and down to the wire, the experienced one needs to step up and run the show.

More sh*t reffereeing will be at the forefront of discussion. Another week when a refs incorrect decision has cost a team 2 points. Surely Annesly has to be told that the stadard is too low, and his whole section needs to lift their game.

Agreed. The automatic handover guarantees inconsistency.

2 refs are great IMO.

but this, and last weeks Dog's debacle puts more pressure on the system from the media and upset fans.

IMO the 'senior' ref should be able to overrule the junior ref when clearly a f**kup has been made. or the video ref overrules.

either way - gotta be done. you can't decide games like this in the modern era. Union may be a strange game, but they don't quibble the technical small crap like this - and the game can go on after the siren as long as its in play... much better
