Do as a community we have the right to continually harass and abuse those who have committed crimes, pled guilty, and in the process of 'serving their time'.

Should that carry on for the rest of their lives ?

As I said earlier it's easy to blame and be judgemental isn't it.

I explained a few days ago my personal experience with continual intrusion. It was minor.

I also didn't have folks sending me abusive texts on my social media, yelling stuff from cars, writing stuff about me. Continually for 3 years.

I believe it wore him down.

(again I will repeat that it's self inflicted was a horrible crime)

I don't know whether we will understand the level of abuse he's had. As we have not walked a mile in his shoes.

I refuse to judge on that basis because I honestly don't know how I'd react under that continual pressure.
Your dealing in fantasy .fact his troubles are created by himself nothing to do with pressure nothing to do with fame
In life it makes no difference if you sweep street or sell expensive cars .your choices define your success or failure
At any time he can walk away no more fame no more spot light .me I will support the decision of the board either way as I have done in most matters

You're comments show a lack of understanding about my previous post.

If you honestly think that 3 years worth of continual abuse, media abuse, threats etc aren't wearing on an individual you obviously were behind the door when empathy was being handed out,

I don't agree with what May did. I agreed with the conviction and the sentence.

What I don't agree with is since then is the high level of abuse, bile and threats this young man has been subjected to, Much of it driven by the media, and those who believe totally every word that is uttered by them without thinking.

I can't imagine how dreadful his life has been during this time.

I can fully understand why he posted what he did.

I hope for his sake and his own emotional well being he allowed to stay with the club.

In my opinion anything less than May staying with the club is a lynch mob with the media organising the posse and lighting the torches used.

And Penrith Panthers as a club been manipulated and being put under pressure by the media's outrage brigade.

You must get different news to what us mere locals get .apart from the court trial May has not even hit the papers untill his recent dramas
His new contract offer did not even make the papers. Now just to be clear penrith is a business paid for by sponsors fans and the club
Panthers is like a pack of cards and can easily fall with any sort of strong wind .fans leave sponsors don’t see value in the product leave .There has to be a level of accountability for any actions .mays level with be judged by the board not the media not you are me
Again as I have said many time I will support the club what ever the decision. Is.my season tickets already paid for .the 2770 code locked and loaded

May 5th 2019 May stood down by NRL(March)
May appeared in court Penrith 2019 (May)
May hit with fresh charges 2019 (July)
May pleaded guilty 2019 (November)

Sentenced Jan 2020.

8th Feb 2020 NRL suspended May for 4 games 2020 season. Fined 1/4 salary for 2019 season

2021 March civil action by victim for 6 figure payout.
2021 July settled in civil suit.

This is the time line.

So as you can clearly see 3 years.

Huge amount of articles written by media to stir up anger and abuse.

Media beat up
So none of these events are the result of mays actions all made up by the media
What you have posted just proves he learnt nothing over 3 years
Well Wednesday we will have the answer what you or me think is irrelevant .the board will deal with facts and deliver there result

I just hope and pray the board is not manipulated by the outrage brigade and the ambulance chasing media.

Sadly I think they will be.

Why is it that we never find out who filmed the video or who has distributed the video?

Same thing with the person who filmed and distributed the Munster/Smith/Lewis “white powder” video.

You might find out a lot of things if May is sacked from the club.
He will have nothing to lose by naming the other people involved in that night.

I don't think Tyrone will lead with this argument, but I guarantee it will be considered by the board.

We all remember how 2019 played out. Lot of players looked distracted and performed terribly on the field. 2022 could come full circle.

Yeah that's my worry. May needs to think about his actions. I, for one, can not understand why he did that?

That is the thing he didn't just wake one day and go. 'You know what I am going to send a sextape to my co workers'

So there has to be other stuff before that point to make it a so called safe place to send such things

Had, and also Russell Packer.

A few handy points handily overlooked by some of you scrambling to clutch onto any straw of moral validation...

Packer served his time for assault. .educated himself and spoke freely about his crime.
:He was brought back into the game by Wayne Bennet at the Dragons as he believed in giving someone a second chance for rehabilitation and Packer has grown since.
And the cherry on top for you....Packer was brought to WT by your very own pillar of ethics IVAN FK'N CLEARY! who left Packer there with a 4 year contract and an 800k per year hole in the WT cap after telling everyone to stick solid on his magic bus while he fuc ed off in the middle of the night.
Feel free to point out any factual errors

Most of the mentioning of any Tigers players and their legal shortcomings is in response to TSP's moral crusading. Check out our dumpyard thread and you will get the jist of it.

VPN's make material posted online untraceable. You'd be a fool not to use them when posting porn.

I doubt it, if he wants to have a career in the game. And for the reason above. He might not even know who it was.

I find it amusing when someone is unable to have a rational and sensible discussion about an issue.

He or she drags out a meme that is intended as an insult.

Not insulted just amused at your inability for intelligent discussion.
So to tell me you're not insulted, you insult me...? Ironic.

If you took offence to that, that's entirely on you. Every man and his dog knows what that meme means, and offensive it aint.

As I've said, I want him gone. Trouble for me is, I find the recent case against May, flimsy at best.
I'm not willing to throw in all the past crimes and my dislike of the guy to justify my position.
What they will do is take into consideration past incidents. However, if those past incidents weren't enough and the current one is, then it is the current one they are acting upon. They say as much in their statement.

Even though it didn't get to trial, the Folou case seems a fair precedent for this, ie something not unlawful that upset a lot of people who didn't interpret it as the writer intended, and I expect the club's legal eagles would have made them mindful of how that finished up. They got rid of him but it cost them an undisclosed sum, veryt likely seven figures. May isn't on near the money but they still risk having to pay him out. It also depends whether he had specific social media clauses in his contract, not just clauses saying he must not bring the game into disrepute. These sort of clauses haven't stood up well in the past. I have my doubts he did have social media clauses applicable only to him, as it would have been very difficult for anyone to foresee this situation and he's never been in trouble for posting on social media before.
