Matt Hilder wasn't blessed with the most skill but he was a toiler, was versatile and never let the team down, Randell is similar, great utility value, can be plugged in anywhere and do a solid shift.

He does have another year on his contract but the Knights are trying to free up some money to make a few new signings for next year, so it looks like Tyrone will be released early if we can sign Hodkinson.

Apparently Leeds approached the Knights about releasing Tyrone a month or two ago but we turned it down at the time. Not sure if the offer is still on the table. Based on what I've been reading I think it's more likely that he'll go to the Titans unfortunately.

Ha Ha Cuthbertson is playing great and he's loving playing for the Rhinos so no player swap! By what I've read on here a lot of you will be glad to see Tyrone leave! Does the deal depend on Knights signing Hodkinson first ?

If it was up to me, I would have kept Hokko at the dogs and have interchanged between Hokko, Reyno and Mybe. Roberts is a live wire, he brings energy and unpredictability to the side, he's like Josh Reynolds in a way. It would be great to see Hokko start and then giving Tyrone a run when the game needs a spark.

I'd like to keep Roberts around as a bench utility (his best position is hooker) if he were on 200k max but you don't pay 400k for an interchange hooker/back up half.

He'd be an alright bench utility but not worth the kind of money he's getting. Especially when we already have depth in the halves/hooker spot.

To be fair, Stone is talking the bloke up, as he should because he needs to move him on and wants to pay a little as possible from the 2016 cap as he can.

So he needs to project the image that the bloke is killing it.

Under the salary cap the average income works out at around 280K, so Roberts isn't on a huge income based on that. However based on the way he has played over the last 18 months he is getting massive overs.

Whilst that's interesting, I would suggest that there doesn't seem to be a lot of mirrors in that place because Tyrone isn't on his own for poor form.
