If it wasn't for De Gea this tie would already be over.

Agreed. Fantastic young keeper.

I am thinking United will be naming a much better team in the return leg. Will be something along the lines of:

----------------------------De Gea------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------
Smalling/Jones---Smalling/Jones---Ferdinand----Evra
-------------------------------------------------------------
Nani---------Carrick----------Scholes-----------Young
--------------------------------------------------------------
-------------Rooney---------Welbeck----------------------

Bench:
Cleverley
Giggs
Chicharito
Berbatov
Rafael
Fabio

3-2 loss at home is a big ask to come back from but not impossible. Weakest link in this team is Evra who is well past his used by date.

its only 3-2 going to spain a victory isnt out of reach and if you count manchester united out now you are deluded

TT the best team in the EPL was beaten 7 -1

the defending champions of the BundesLOLa were beaten 7 - 1 that shows how strong that league is

I'd just like to point out just how horrible this current United team are.

The likes of Smalling, Jones, Evans, Raphael, Fabio, Carrick, Fletcher, Wellbeck - all massive lols. And when some of your best players are (minus Rooney) Valencia, Nani, Chicharito and Young - all merely good players - you know you're struggling.

Definately the worst United team ive seen in my time.

But congrats to Bilbao. A quality side who put to bed this belief that La Liga is merely a two-teamed league with a bunch of average teams. Bilbao, Valencia, Atletico Madrid - all better football sides than Man Utd atm i reckon.

What does that then say about the PL that they could still be champions?

It's the midfield options. I'm watching the replay and Bilbao are cutting through them like Man U are a
conference team. They are controlling the tempo, stringing far too many passes together and seem to be a yard quicker than the Man U players.

There's no doubting that Scholes was a great player but the fact that he has had to come out of retirement to help out signifies the problems in options.

Bilbao are a good team though.

Man U will be lucky to get a draw in Bilbao. The AB fans were so loud at Old Trafford last night it sounded like it was their home match (no, I'm not surprised by the), imagine how the atmosphere will be IN Bilbao!

But of course, Man U always have the "meh, it's only Europa, we didn't really care anyway, now we can concentrate on the Prem" excuse to fall back on....

From memory, Sporting Lisbon were paying 4.00, and AB 7.00, so if you'd back both Manchester teams to lose the odds were about 28/1....

It says more about Tommys ability to rate a player.

On the match:
Another rubbish Euro performance. Guess this is just are year for them. Still, we beat Ajax there place, now its time to do the same to Athletic.

No probs. Still "its only the Europa, we have to concentrate on the prem.."

We will probably see a 5 man mid though. That defence needs more protection.

Not sure if it's been referenced here yet, but Messi's 5 goal haul the other day was the first time a single player has scored 5 goals in a single CL game. Impressive!
