I don't know what that means. But I don't want to be a defendant, I want to be in a jury.

That's what was so hard about today.

10 of us believed he actually did it, but unfortunately with having to find it beyond a reasonable doubt we couldn't do it.

The judge also told us that with cases where it is word for word, unless you believe the complainant is 100% credible, you can't find the accused guilty.

The amount of holes in her account of things compared to the neighbours and cops and also changing her story in regards to things that happened beforehand made it extremely difficult to see her as credible.

It's a tough one mate. It must really suck to see a guy who you think is probably guilty walk because you aren't 100 percent sure but you did the right thing.

Probably one of the major reasons I only lasted a couple of years in Criminal defence.

It's a merkin of an industry.

That and I'm kinda lazy...

I was glad I never had to do jury duty in the States. Cop's wife n all all you have to do, is say you always side with cops, and they dismiss you!

I'm looking forward to cracking a wine and watching the Eels tomorrow though. I did manage to catch the Tahs super rugby win (which was awesome in a pub on Clarke Quay) and a couple of Eels games over there, but it's gonna be nice to chill out on the couch and watch it

Me? I've stopped getting up early for tigers games after 4 seasons here in the US.
